i set the background to be pure black. they were semi-transparent before (out of habit).

Coo. I'll add thicker borders on the left and right sides to address that problem.
I'll release the next version with this fix on Nexusmods tomorrow night. it's 3am here. zzzz.

If you want a quick fix before then, you can add a space in front of all the commands by editing the language file.
It's only an XML file and contains the text that the mod uses.
The Nav Com commands are in entries numbered 1001 to 1022 and start at line 15 of the text file.
(The rest of the text is used to build the other parts of the Nav Com. E.g. headings, etc.)

The file is located in this folder: game folder\extensions\kuertee_accessibility_features\t\0001.xml

- Bug fix: NVAccess OCR skipping the first letter of a line: Increased the left border to move the line further away from the edge of the window.
- Bug fix: NVAccess OCR skipping a line: This was caused by the line having a blue-coloured background - caused by the mouse cursor being on it or by a category being highlighted because it was active. Fix 1: is to move the mouse to the bottom-right edge of the screen when the window is opened or refreshed. Fix 2: Made all lines, regardless of whether they were buttons or just straight text to have a black background. Fix 3: Made the background of Navigation Computer window opaque black - rather than transparent.
- New feature: Pagination. The scrollbar is removed from the Navigation Computer. In its place are pagination controls. In this version of the mod, the Navigation Computer lists only 15 entries at a time - not counting titles and sub-titles.



Sorry for this delay. RL work dropped during the week, and pushed all my gaming and modding time to the bottom of my "to-do stack".
I really want to start the mod's next features: ship purchasing/configuring, and then station purchasing/configuring.
But I can't promise a timeline for them. I'm taking a slower-paced with my gaming and mods for about a week or two. I'm a bit burnt out. Hahaha!

But feel free to post your comments and feedback with this mod.
And I'll address any that I can quickly fix or change.

wow. the last version didn't work! i totally missed the bug. a couple of players on nexus mod reported the mod not working in the last few days.
i apologise for leaving it broken for so long.

here's the new version. there's nothing really new, except that the features (pagination, better OCR support) from the previous version should now work.
i returned back to modding in the last week or two - but still very slowly; so this version still doesn't have the buy ship and buy station UIs.
i'll get to them eventually. i can't promise a timeline still, unfortunately.

had a suggestion request
1. Now that the categories have their own page, can there be a page for ships and another page for stations? this will clean up the objects in space page, and it will be easier to find stations and ships without having to go through other objects and the objects in space can have the vaults, asteroids and other things.
2. can there be an indication in the ship list when there's a hostile ship? i can usually find them by pressing the E key, but if i have a pilot flying for me, i can't do that so i have to select the hostile ship from the computer; sometimes it's tough to figure out which one is hostile.

it's for the paginator. i found that the scrollbar wasn't accessible.

You can make stations without the hq, but the hq is needed to unlock your research options.

Research unlocks the ability to search for and scan data leaks on station modules, allowing you to get their blueprints without having to buy them. This saves you hundreds of millions of credits. It also bypasses the reputation requirements for certain modules, like the administration module.

HQ research also unlocks the ability to modify ship components, like weapons, engines, turrets or the whole hull.

It is also needed to progress your main story, as the hq is the place where you get your diplomatic advisor. Only through him can you play all main story missions.

i'm sorry i missed this message. i've been busy re: modding in the last weeks of last year - trying to get mod stuff out before NY.

but, as xant replied, you can ignore the plot and story missions and build stations wherever - except that that portion of the game, along with shipbuilding, are not accessible.
i have ideas on how to make them accessible and planned* to incorporate them in this accessible mod.
time is the only consideration.

re: plots and story missions:
tldr: you can't do them
long version:
most of the plot and story missions require usual player activities. modt you can currently do now (e.g. repair, talk to, etc.).
when ship building and station building becomes accessible (via this mod), then you you'll be able to do 90% to 99% of the plot and story missions.
SOME may need adjustments.
but at this time, i can only think of one. there could be a handful more, or none more.

that's great news! the more i mod x4, the more i like it.

i really don't know how Egosoft did it, but i really like how everything is simulated - miners mining, then dropping off their minerals/gas at stations, then stations refining them, then traders shipping them off to factories, etc... my other mod, emergent missions, takes advantage of this to create "true" escort and support missions that eventuate from events in the game.

anyway, here's a new version of Accessibility Features (https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/748) with these changes:
v4.2.07, 17 Jan 2022:
-Bug-fix: Paginator: Page and Previous buttons were not shown properly. In this version, "Page X of Y" is shown. In the previous version, only the first page showed "Page 0" and only the last page had the Previous button.

Thanks for this; I do have an issue with the mod, it seems like the enter airlock of <myship> won't work anymore.
The command hangs there and i hear the audio file for when the command is in process for a very long time.
I was able to exit the ship but i can't enter it anymore.
Tried with two different start, same results.

If you have the updated game, it should be ok.
I don't think the update to Accessibility Features require any new versions of Mod Support API or any new versions of UI Extensions - especially if Accessibility Features worked before.
But update them anyway.

I just checked in-game and I was able to both spacewalk from the ship and re-enter it with these commands at the top of the Navigation Computer: "Exit X to spacewalk" and "Enter airlock of X".

yeah, you'll need to enable the game's logging feature:
1. add this to the game's launch options: "-debug all -logfile debug.log". if you're playing from steam, the process is: right-click the game. select properties. on the right of the menu, there's a field labeled "launch options".
2. load the game - make the mod fail by exiting your ship, then re-entering it.
3. send me, kuertee@gmail.com, the file "my docs\egosoft\x4\a number assigned to\debug.log".
