Massive flight Overhaul: New Lore Back ship, new Cockpit,
New 3d ship for External view & Transparent Canopy Glass
VR compatible. Lost sectors supported
I decided to divide the mod into two separate modes to choose from:
Cockpit & Back ship
or Just download a single mod file which contains everything

I decided to divide the mod into two separate modes to choose from in favor of flexibility and compatibility between other mods & VR if in use.
You can use each individually or together
Cockpit
And back (VR compatible)
In addition there is the option to download a single mod file which contains everything.
added optional file - No star dust for lost sectors


new massive update : 1.80
set field of view to 93.4
fixed all textures stretching
new - Skunk BACK Ship interiors with 2 levels
new - walk the skunk cockpit when landed on capital ships or docks (50% ready:)
new - lightning for more cyberspace feel
new - skunk animations and 3D cockpit for external camera



Ready & Done
0. redesign cockpit Glass canopy and frames from scratch with lights reflections and dirt
1. Centered the Cockpit , Player and all Ship components - placed it on XYZ Zero Grid (player is now at the front center of the ship )
2. optimized collusion for fancy flying - ( you can fly between narrow structures and pipes like the Millennium falcon)
3. independent Field of View settings (changed from 93.4 to - 140.5 )
4. Side Menu Console for any Fov ( fixed Legendary BUG that happens if FOV changed from 93.4 base game setting)
5. Lore redesign the UI clicks menus and Monitors
6. New optimized weapons system visuals for any Field of view or resolution .
8. new UI and Camera animations locations for campaign story integration.
9. minimalist cockpit design using Blender to create open wide dreamy view
10. removed more then 80.000 Verts not seen by the eye for better FPS and preference.

to do:
11. 3D cockpit for external camera view - 80% ready (x4 style). (will added in the future as optional plugin) --- BETA - Done
12. make more cockpits easy and port it to - [WIP] Take Control ( Clownmug did the impossible Giving us the ability to fly other ships)
13. weapons systems : to prevent a symmetrical visual glitches (for any fov settings) - redo from scratch bullets and muzzles need some small calibration and adjustments it takes time
because its like gazillions of layers created for fov 93 only.
for now i just scaled the polygons for some of them and edited 7 macro files bullet_player - to remove muzzles and symmetric flashing's.
i will remove the macro files in the future its just temporary .

this is not just a mod - more like a Remade Cockpit Therapy created 95% inside blender 2.81a
if you The same as me - always wished for more sensible cockpit design with bigger field of view just to fly around and see the beautiful universe egosoft created ?
and all this without visuals glitchs or scripting your life away and hopefully without bugs ..

install: - more like a double check ... Fov settings in config.xml should be vanilla default settings


script xml info:
This mod alter only the default cockpit (units_player_cockpit_1.xml and weapons FX'S xml's) and leave the other cockpits and game settings untouched.
this gives us and other mods creators more flexible way safe and easy to use this mod as blueprint.
also this mod can help as copy paste to other cockpits xml's (and ships in the future) with any settings and design separately
and no macro files was edited - 99% Macro.xml's free!


inspired by mods like: Skunk Overhaul (i will fix this old gem)

Make folder names in lower case. Otherwise, for Linux users, the mod will not work.

If in the mod contains files for LS it is better to put them in the way:

ZeroGrid\extensions\lostsectors\
This will get rid of unnecessary errors in the log if the LS mod is not used
