any update for 4.21 most mods looks to work fine, except missing option to detach CV mod in talk with architect

Please could you list the ones that are working OK in your game?

NZ can update the thread with info from players or modders.

Thanks Sparky :D - I been slacking a bit on playing rebirth, toooooo many new games, not enuff time to play them all.. :(
But I am still actively maintaining this list whenever someone posts an update for me to include..

Just a heads up.

If not stated otherwise... all my Mods are still fine with the latest Version (that is 4.21 beta at the moment).


That includes XR VR with the same Version Number.

TOBS will spit out a lot missing connections errors in VR but it works.

The link towards Rubini's "Smaller Sun for DeVries" is not working properly. It leads you to another mod.

Hiigaran Crossroads Cluster has been updated for 4.10. Because I don't use any advanced scripting it should also work with the 1.21 Beta (I checked the changelog and so far none of it effects me).

Debug should still be green. Only error I have that gets thrown in the log is a check to see if Conquest & War (CWIR) is installed but it only occurs once.

The ridiculously low amount of mods for this game surprised me, until I installed it a few days ago. X:R is broken in so many ways (even v4.1) that I considered uninstalling multiple times after coming from X3 since 2005.
Even the graphics are worse than in X3, lol...

Now can someone please tell me how to get mods from Steam workshop, when not running the game over steam? (Also maybe someone has an idea how to delete that unholy lensflare/sun glare effect, I found no mod for this)

If you don't find a mod on Nexus and the mod owner is not replying or not willing to put it there, you can try using steamworkshop.download and XRWSunpack. I make no promise these are safe and working, all I know is that it worked for me once.

And if you find a mod to remove that glare, I'm interested !

Thanks, didn't know this exists. Hopefully the sun glare is just a texture that I can replace with a full alpha 1x1 dds image, I will look into that myself once I find time for it. Initially I didn't want to mod this game myself as I have more important stuff to mod.

\assets\environments\cluster\cluster_#.xml
Replace # with the cluster who's sun you want to change.
Search for "lenseffect=" to find out which one to edit.

\libraries\lens_effects.xml
Entries start with <lenseffect name="sun_ (Or just search for the specific one from above)

XML Patch to remove any Elements you don't want from the flare effect. Just be careful not to remove the actual sun in the process (or you break the whole cluster's lighting, DeVries is the only one with an actual physical sun). Changing the actual textures is a bit harder because you would have to backtrack further but ultimately unnecessary if your goal is to just remove components.

Should save you some time, I just got done building a custom lens effect for my mod so I still knew where all the links were, I just don't have the time to write/test a patch for you :)

Thanks, i looked into that.
There are like 1234124123 cluster_* files, and changing the lens_effects.xml makes no change - except when i delete all entries of that file. Then everything is dark. Even when i leave only 1 entry nothing changes at all. Since i wont look into all thousand of the cluster files and the lens_effects.xml refuses to be modified i wont look further into this. I would need to find the map file or texture and what not to dig deeper into it which is too time consuming.

€DIT::: I also changed the lenseffect in 6 cluster_xxx.xml files, nothing changed. In no sector.

Marine Rebalance should be good to go for XR 4.3.

NOT good to go for XRVR 4.3 in the XRVR Steam Workshop (the attack strength from the notification you get after successfully boarding a vessel will be wrong. actual attack strength will still be updated correctly, though.) Fine if you get the NZ-Wanderer edition from the Nexus though.

All of my other mods should also be fine for 4.3, but i didn't actually check in-game, so thar could be bugs.
