[MOD] No Stardust V0.2

Post by enenra » Tue, 19. Nov 13, 13:49

No Stardust
V0.2 experimental
by enenra

Removes all stardust* from the game.

*the particles that you see in streaks when moving.

Installation:
Place the extracted folder in your Steam\SteamApps\common\x_rebirth\extensions\-folder (create one if it doesn't exist yet). Then make sure when you launch the game that the extension is enabled.

AWESOME! Can you make a "No Fog" (local fog) mod as well?

Cause the only guy who can do this, dont want to do ;-)

Hi just tested it. It shows up under extensions and is enabled. But doesn't seem to work at all. Maybe the new game patch threw it up?

I think I have found the problem. Will upload 0.2 in a few minutes.

Works great . You can still see the tiny rocks which is cool, just not the streaky light thingys.

Brilliant!

A must have mod IMO .. The tiny rocks still give the impression of speed and direction.

I'm assuming you're using V0.2? :)

Could you maybe take a screenshot I could upload to the Nexus / show here?

You don't need to pay anything on the nexusmods site. Just don't check any checkbox and proceed with registration

I got punch of mods on the game and still get the achievements. I don't think rebirth has the *modified* tag.

Is there a mod that removes the stardust from the Teladi DLC sectors? This original mod works perfectly for me except for the new sectors added with the DLC. Thanks

Add to stardust_library.xml in mod->

Code: Select all

<!-- Teladi Outpost -->
  <add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="cluster_t_sector01_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

  <add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="cluster_t_sector02_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

Thanks Igec! Do you happen to have the code to add for HoL? :)

I think I figured out how to remove star dust from HoL by adding the code below to the stardust_library.xml

I haven't tested every sector so use at your own risk. :)

Code: Select all

<!-- cold star -->
<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_L_Sector01_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_L_Sector02_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_L_Sector03_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<!-- Home of Light -->
<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_M_Sector01_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_M_Sector02_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_M_Sector03_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_M_Sector04_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

<!-- Toride -->
<add sel="/stardust">
    <configuration space="Cluster_N_Sector01_macro" material="particles.stardust" amount="0" size="0.5" distance="2000" maxvel="200">
      <scale linear="0.20" angular="0.0" />
    </configuration>
  </add>

No, just the link structure on Nexusmods changed since the link was posted. I adjusted the link in the opening post now:
