Cannot Register my X Rebirth Copy.

Hi
Ive been trying to register my copy of X Rebirth and cannot seen to do this, I have gone into my profile, put the code in several times, trying different formats but it keeps saying invalid code entry. Can you assist.

currently X Rebirth can afaik only be registered if its on your steam account, if you link both:

in the meantime XR has also been available via GoG but i dont know if alternative registration methods have been made available for this or not.
