Spinning Camerav [Cause was joystick] [Q&A CUI-3]
The title says it all.
I can't play the game due to this issue - as soon as the intro has played out and I enter first person view - the camera spins in a clockwise direction continuously and I have no idea how to remedy this.
Surely I cant be the only one who's had this judging by the volume of posts in the Tech Support forum?
Has anyone else experienced this problem and been able to fix it?
Cheers guys.

More likely a stuck button or poor calibration or dead zone on a joystick, controller or gamepad. Unplug any USB etc controller or peripherals and try again. If the problem goes away then experiment to find which device causes it, recalibrate if necessary, or then experiment down to which button, stick or throttle. There are ways of ignoring buttons too: FAQ.

Well guys, you were right enough about it being a joystick conflict. I unplugged the stick (Saitek X52 Pro) and throttle and the spinning was gone.
This has given rise to a new issue though - how am I supposed to play without a joystick? After playing every game since X2 with a stick, the prospect of using anything OTHER than a stick is totally alien to me.
Things I have tried so far include, re-installing the joystick drivers, widening the deadzones for the stick and ministick on the throttle, and even disabling the ministick from within the profiling software - all with no luck.
Any thoughts or suggestions guys?
Thanks

Not at this time. If you are feeling brave, there is a huge joystick thread you can browse through here for hints and tips.

White Rat well I can say that I have the same problem and uninstalling the drivers for the x52 pro does NOT work!! So far I have working pitch roll yaw, both fire for guns missiles and switching weapons. Space all working for my liking (Sound and graphic's will leave alone)
Station landing, all I do is look at the ground so again had to save game get out of game unplug stick re start game run around station, save game restart game get into space. Most settings require remapping that end up being totally wrong. Most things you cannot remap, just will not let you. Guessing at what a keyboard key does is NOT how to play a game and pounding keys until something happens, ( do write them down and hit more keys lol
Man I thought Egosoft's CIG head would have throught better then let the Community fix the problems YET AGAIN!!...
Egosoft :: are we still in Beta? if so can U post a list of key settings so we can at least try to figure out why the "A" is in the middle of my screen with 5-2 or the square symble with a left or right arrow beside it. This is the last game I get from Egosoft.. Well done and good luck with the problems.

Hi AC_Black; you weren't kidding about the difficulty in configuring a joystick were you?AC_Black wrote:White Rat wrote:Well guys, you were right enough about it being a joystick conflict. I unplugged the stick (Saitek X52 Pro) and throttle and the spinning was gone.

I managed to trace the spinning camera back to a rotary dial which was turned all the way up, at least now the game is in a playable state and all I have to do is figure out how to map the ship functions to the stick & throttle.

Re: Spinning Camerav [Cause was joystick] [Q&A CUI-3]
The Fix (use keyboard as your mouse wont work)
Esc > Settings > Controls > Configure Joysticks > Make the F.16000 controller 1 and the TWCS controller 2
Now enjoy X4
EDIT
I'll leave this here in case it helps anybody but this fix is for X4 not XR, apologies.

Wow, a nearly 6 year necro too. X4 players will probably not be looking for an issue solution here. <click>
