is this possible? Sometimes i just idle in kingdoms end for awhile reading.

what if...i get the desired track i want played...remove the one in the X3 folder, replace with the one i want to be played and re-name it identically to the track i taken out.

a good idea? or is it more complicated then that. I would listen to music going to windows via crt-alt-del, but X3 dont like it Sad

Yes, that will work.

I'm not surprised the game doesn't like you pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del, since that will reboot the computer. I think you mean Alt-Tab. Wink

I know this isn't exactly what you are talking about, but you could make a playlist, play it, start the game and turn the game music down all the way. Yours will override it.

The only problem with haing a playlist on Winamp (etc.) is that you've got an extra program eating up CPU cycles and RAM. As resource hungry as modern games are, this isn't a very good option.

Right, but I did it with X2 and it worked just fine.

Well, on XP boxes it brings up task manager. But to me, a game doing wonky things on a task-switch is nothing new. Half the games I have either crash if you do it or wont come back up properly when switching back.

Another option would be to use the lite version of the mp3 player called foobar2000. It is supremely lightweight, takes up VERY little resources, and offers a nice and easy interface. It should allow you to play your music to almost no performance detriment at all.

I killed a rather new 60gig hard-disk alt-tabbing in Neverwinter Nights. Comp crashed, hard-disk died, lost everything.

I guess I won't be alt-tabbing in X3. Very Happy
