OT - How old is old?
This is obviously relative to your own age, but when should someone stop playing X games for example?

I think old is when you cant hold a mouse, keyboard, oxygen mask and medication all at the one time anymore.Firebird wrote:This is obviously relative to your own age, but when should someone stop playing X games for example?

The answer is easy... you stop playing if you don't feel like it anymore. I for example stopped playing computer games in the late 80's/early 90's, when I was in my early twenties. I still play on occasion now, but extremely infrequent, and never for very long.Firebird wrote:This is obviously relative to your own age, but when should someone stop playing X games for example?
So, if you still feel like playing at age 60+++ - then why not. An old lady from my remote kinship bought a PlayStation One at age 80 and played like mad for a year or two (she then died, of cancer, not of playing, I might add)

You are obviously a busy man, is that the reason you dont play much ? or maybe available games are not to your liking.

Not sure... I think they're mostly too complex for me. Not that I don't understand them, but I'm an extremely lazy guy and I think I just don't wanna learn a game like I learn a programming language or an application program. I prefer simple things like 2d jump'n'runs, or simple shoot'em'ups, or 3D FPS (deathmatch only, even though I'm a really lousy player).robroy wrote: You are obviously a busy man, is that the reason you dont play much ? or maybe available games are not to your liking.
However, when X online starts, I'll definitely want to play it. Probably even hours, and weekends in a row On my video projector screen. Full immersion

Hehe, true. We played Doom I & II at Softgold for hours every day, 1 1/2 years or longer, 1994-1995 or so, when doing customer hotline. I was not the best among my collegues then, but when deathmatching with my friends on small private LAN parties, I was a killer At first, that isRogue wrote:No such thing as 'Lousy' old friend.
