Just check the markers on the corners/ends of the platforms and the steps in them, the way the throw shadows.

This weeks theme is a feature in X2 -The Threat called shading. Bernd Lehan already displayed a few pics with this feature here in the forum some days ago. You might ask: "What is this shading all about". It is simply the ability of a newer video card to display shadows thrown by a lightsource. You might say: "So what?". If a developer of a game takes this feature into account when making a game and is using among other stuff textures in a game with grooves which get highlighted by "shading", one almost gets a 3D display look on the screen. If anything else in the game that moves or turns or rotates and throws shadows while doing so, the sensation of being in a "real" 3D Universe becomes almost realistic. This feature of course makes for an immense enjoyment viewing all this in a space simulation like X2 - The Threat.
As a bonus Screenshot an "old" friend when X started, the X Shuttle. What the X Shuttle is doing in X2 - The Threat you will have to find out for yourself
Enjoy[ external image ]

Ahhh... each set of screenshots makes the game look greater... may in time get tough for you to keep the pace CJ
But although the turret on the X-Shuttle looks cool, I really hope it's not the front lasers... what a crap aiming that would make...
Why do I always have to line out the bad parts of everything ?

Well the shading really does look good, and hopefully these are the finishing touches of a truly great game................but i agree with everyone else the turrets on the x shuttle look very out of place. She was a beauty the way she was.
' I feel no pain dear Mother now, But oh i am so dry! O take me to a brewery, And leave me there to die.'
I see no X-Shuttle......
Knock knock. Who's there? Zerg Rushhhhhhhhhhhh!
