Did I imagine it? Charting supply/demand

Post by bl3ek » Sat, 4. Aug 18, 13:05

Hi all,

I have Google and I have YouTubed and I have searched the forum.

I can't find it.

But I swear I've seen a standard AP feature where you can see a line chart of the supply and demand, by product, for each sector.

Am I going mad, or does this actually exist?

See if this helps. Good luck.

Aha! "Object graphs" is why I couldn't find them.

So it says, and I quote:
Object Graphs

Other graphs focus on individual objects and can be accessed from the the Advanced section of the context menu for the object:

• Station resource/product stock levels over time.
• Station profitability over time (also shows account transfers).
Should I be seeing an advanced option on the drop-down menu when I click on a station? :?

I think that last section deals only with player stations. I could be wrong though.

Oh this is embarrassing, did I see the feature in X Rebirth? :D

I only played it for 10 hours before coming back to X3AP.

I think that's where my confusion has come from!

If you mean this, then you're indeed thinking of X Rebirth. ;)

I am currently working on an economic map for X3AP but I still need to get the secondary resource consumption right and the friction factor (needs a data set).

Oh nice, will it work similar to the X Rebirth feature but using the inbuilt X3 graph system?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't think that secondary resources consume at a fixed rate. I think there is a randomness to the interval.

Not that primary resources do either, for that matter. Any such mapping would have to be based on an "all resources available" assumption, otherwise consumption rates fluctuate.

But don't let me be a downer. I'll be really happy to see what you come up with, even if it has some approximations/assumptions to it.
