Could try installing to program files x86 folder as it's meant for older 32bit apps. I hear that works for some older titles that don't like 64bit computers

I already had it installed in 'Program Files (x86)' with my other Steam games.

The second solution actually worked, perhaps because my monitor resolution is also 2560x1440. Lowering the desktop resolution works regardless of whether or not the files are running in Win98 compatibility mode.

Problem solved. Thanks for the tip. Smile

Np.

Least it let's egosoft know xtension has issues running at that Res. And if they ever want to do another patch for it they can try adding better resolution support like urs.

One thing I still can't work out is why it didn't work before when I tried running it with the desktop at 1280x1024. Yet it works at that resolution now. Quite bizarre. Confused Thinking
