When i have a roving band of people i tend to use one of them as a sort of pack horse and shove all the food within their inventory which others will take from. For this to work well, you need to select somebody who is quite fast and can handle large weights, if you couple them with a traders back pack you can actually cram a lot in, but they are obviously not efficient at combat, but you can usually keep them back from the action.birdtable wrote:@ ATTACK_HAMPSTER ..... Regarding food, does that mean I have to set up groups for feeding to be more automated,, last play through I just had a loose band of misfits ... Did to much stealing in the Holy Lands, when I went into a shop security was greatly evident/increased ... Handy to have a couple of the crew as diversionary targets...
Luckily I have had no crashes yet, so other than the learning curve and food being consumed so quickly everything running OK,,, maybe I should not expect them to live on a loaf of bread every few days, a diet richer in meat and vegetables possibly ... might be a little harsh in my treatment.
Once you set up a small camp/farm, all you need to do is build a food storage bin and the NPCS will take food from the bin automatically once their hunger drops to around 60%. As for how much they eat, i am not sure if the nutrient level of food consumed has a direct effect on their levels of hunger, i will try and test it out this weekend.
I haven't tried stealing anything yet, but i want to set up a separate save for exploring and adventuring as i have only really concentrated on the colony management in this play through - can stealing be lucrative?
