I have always wanted to make a fighter only army. My ultimate goal is to create a huge fighter fleet ans swarm enemies with it. However, in order to a achieve that, there is a key element that is unfortunately not working well, the good old Drostan. I love his concept thought.

Since it actually always fights with its main gun, will its behavior going to get improved in 4.10?

Is there any mod in existence that improves the drostan behavior?

I hope at least there is a way to fix it...

None that i'm aware of.

Easiest way to address what you mentioned (Drostan wandering close to target) would probably be to increase the range of the Drostan's shorter-ranged torpedoes. Still wouldn't work 100% since they don't always fire their torpedoes when the opportunity presents itself (skill check, if i remember correctly), but they do try to turn and accelerate off before trying another attack run after having fired a salvo. Drostans flown by good pilots would then have no weakness against big ships and stations, though.

Seem to remember experimenting with that back when i was actively modding, then gave it up for some reason i can't remember right now. Probably just came upon more interesting things in the game to tinker with. You might find it in one of the older MICT or MOCT supplemental files, if i haven't cleaned them up yet.

edit: sorry. just checked and turns out i did clean out the old files already. would probably be outdated by now anyway.
