Another stupid question: how can anyone take part in X3TC/AP beta-patch testing? Just download it via Steam?

Thank you very much! Merry Christmas!

Thank you CBJ. I just discovered proper Xbox controller support in X3TC before checking back so I'm very, very happy right now.

Wow, X:R VR and X4, i'm so exited! Very Happy

Just for clarification : With VR you also mean headsets like Oculus, Vive, etc, right? I'm asking because the X:R 4.1 update only mentions headtracking like TrackIR and openTrack.

Is it already known which VR headsets/VR APIs are planned to be supported by X:R VR and X4? I don't want to buy a VR headset that won't be supported by X:R VR/X4 and these things are expensive, so in order to plan ahead a list which VR headsets/VR APIs are planned to be supported would be nice. Smile

Happy holidays, Bernd & Egosoft! Smile

Ah right. You have to select "Yes" for the entry "I want to participate in the X-DEVNET:" in your ForumProfile to access that forum.

Hello,
that is good news. Happy Xmass to Egosoft too.

I have one technical question:
Next year will be released Zen and Intel will launch 6 core (12 hyper-tread) CPU as well. Is engine for X4 ready (I mean optimized) for CPU with more that 4 cores? Yes I remember some X:R dev video, where Mathias or someone tells that X:R can utilize even 32 core CPU. But we know truth - in reality X:R have only 2 massive threads on 2 cores and all other cores remains not fully utilized.
So will this be changed in next Vulcan based X:R enhanced X4 engine or not?

It is important to me because i will buy new CPU (AMD or Intel, based on real test results) for 6+ years....

And for name for X4 I suggest: X: Strikes Back (and X: Elite Citizen is very good too)

TrackIR support has been added to the standard XR game. VR Edition is a new game, and yes it's for systems such as Oculus and Vive.

Or, to keep the X:R-naming (X3:Reunion, X: Rebirth), how about X4:Redemption? Razz just kidding.

@Egosoft : I know it'll be a long time until the releases of X:R VR and X4, but please please please please make sure you'll do it right this time by making sure the game is working properly before you release it. I'd be so happy for you finally recieving good PR again for a stable and properly working release version.

Since VR Edition is going to early access, will X4 also be an early access title one day?

The community would be quite confused if they do that. Anyway, I will be back when X4 comes out.
