Yep, it's an easteregg from Egosoft.

When i first encountered this mine it was the biggest jaw-dropping WTF-moment i ever had in the entire X-series, i was speechless and staring at the monitor for like 2 minutes and then started laughing.

I wasn't too sure of what just happened when I first found this. I found it due to pure luck, as I was dog-fighting some xenon fighters in the area, and couldn't really pay attention to it.

By the way, I'm pretty sure it's not the only Easter egg in the game. (I found some Kerbal plushies without knowing what they were at first. I also read something about "AkenBosh whisky" or something (sorry if I murder the name)).

We should list them up somewhere, unless such a list already exist.

Seriously though, no easter egg, "just" one of the prize for arriving first in The great X Rebirth video competition from some time ago.

Also, when around station, look out for FTL ships stranded in the wrong places...and when you are done in the toilet, don't forget to use the three seashells!

No one found the cookies though! Tamina tried and offered a reward, but i just hid them too well

There are other eastereggs, but naming them would take the fun out of it for so. who stumbles upon them and gets the reference
