The Combat skill appears to refer to ship-to-ship combat: targeting, control of weapon systems, that kind of thing. Only NPCs that use them are Pilots and Defence Officers. Hardly a skill that a Marine Officer would be able to use. Although I agree that the skill name is rather vague, but I imagine that Ego wanted to keep it short.

Ah yeah, I see where we were getting our wires crossed. It's as Sparky says, only bold skills are considered, and only those can be trained.

I think all NPCs except the engineer have three bold skills. Engineers only have the one skill in bold.

I could now see it in-game:
The only MO's bold skills are Leadership and Morale.
There is also a Combat skill, but it's not bold and so not intended to be trained, as strange as it sounds
.
So by hiring a MO you really have to look closely to all these secondary skills to be sure to have a good one in the future!

They also have boarding experience in bold, but it's in a separate section at the top, and as we discussed earlier isn't trainable.

Just fired up a new game using V4 and HoL, and on initial inspection it seems to be OK. Found some black market traders who had the seminars for sale as inventory items. Haven't done any serious playing with V4 yet, but if you have any issues let me know.

Just posting here as there was a report from a user that it wasn't working on one of the beta releases. I didn't check it out then as the full release was just around the corner and I don't really check out the beta releases anyway.

V1.1 released

Added code to better support reinstalling mod after uninstallation.
Added Italian and French localisation.
Added fallback English language file for not supplied languages.

If anyone plays in other languages and want to add translations for other supported languages, let me know and I'll be happy to include them.

Hmmm, I'd never actually done the fallback language before. That's just how I was told to do it.

This is nice, I was just starting to think how annoying those seminars are to get. Are you thinking of expanding this more? If so, maybe make it so different NPC hold different seminars, something that would make a bit more sense than Black Marketers selling seminars Razz

Ship Technicians have Engineer seminars
Equipment Vendors have Management seminars
Arms Dealers have Leadership seminars
Junk Dealers have Morale seminars
Mining Vendor have Navigation seminars
ect...

You don't have to do this as it's your mod, but I think it would fit in the game much better that way. I'd feel less awkward if I'm not buying illegal seminars! Razz

It's an interesting idea, but I hadn't really planned on extending it further. I recently purchased Fallout 4, so maybe I'll give it some attention when my binge sessions of the die down a bit, and Rebirth gets a bit of time back in the game rotation.

Thanks to Steam user maczalman, this should now be compatible with X-Rebirth 4.3

Updated files can be obtained from the Nexus link or through Steam Workshop. (Workshop installs should update automatically)

All credit for this version goes to maczalman, who completely recoded the mod for 4.3, and gave permission for me to use that work to update the mod..
