LU has a plethora of new backgrounds but the dust particles which can be seen whizzing past your ship in Vanilla/IE/IEX/XRMi are missing. Some people adore them whilst others hate them, this mod simply re-enables them within each and every LU background (as per vanilla X).
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This mod is save-game friendly but will probably not work with any other mod which makes changes to the backgrounds and/or planets etc. such as IEX or LUi. You will have to restart the game after the mod has been first installed.
Albion Prelude
1). Download the mod from here or here and unpack it.
2). Rename the cat/dat file to be the highest in the AP 'addon' directory.
3). Run X3AP (LU)
This is in truth a really small mini-mod which came about as a result of a PM to me from 'Joubarbe' about something else ... so I'll both blame & thank him.

Ah ha! So stuff loaded up into "BT Cloud" appears to be OK but MediaFire not! I'll try to ensure that all future stuff has both download locations included to ensure our friends further East don't get left out!

for me it's not only for ambiance, it also indicates the current heading of the ship you're flying, which when strafing & trusting, or with ships that have inertia is informative. (one doesn't always go straight forward)
