The script actually counts the number of ships to which YOU are an enemy. Do you have enabled "Show as enemy if enemy to me" in your ship's command console?

The only factions that I am enemies with are the pirates and the Xenon. This is also the only sector that I am seeing the oddity. Its hardly a show stopping thing. I was just curious if anyone else was seeing this.

- Added an option to select whether or not you want the Reaper to go home after collecting all wares in sector.

Can I make a suggestion to show what approx. value of all wares dropped in the sector instead of just count? 5 e-cells or 5 photon cannons are quite different in price, but there is no way to tell from the menu, if the drop is interesting or not.

I did this a while ago but I haven't kept track of changes since then.

I just kinda don't like that the "view sector" doesn't respond to usual X3 sector commands (clicking on anything brings you back to satellite view)

Yes it would. It uses a lot of LU scripting commands and the whole menu is made for LU.

I might give it a shot anyway, really depends on how it's written and if I can wrap my head around how it works.

I already have experience with modding X3R way back, starbound, terraria, don't starve and Skyrim.
I found a modder's ressource on the wiki for LU and the LU scripting canon PDF.

that was not really true, it was possible to do it without "serious" rewriting. i looked the code from shipcompendium for the sort functionality
