Escort fighter limit for destroyers

I've read e.g. an Arawn has 300 drones max, & someone said that controls limit for fighter escorts as well.

Odd thing is, I've assigned 308 fighters to an Arawn just to see,
but only 256 are listed as 'controlled' by the Arawn captain :

The 'excess' 52 fighters are in still joining the formation :

But they appear in the property list, instead of assigned to Arawn :

Not a real problem except it clutters the property list.

But it's fun to see them all go into action at once

edit : Forgot to say, the leading front of fighters is 11 km from the Arawn,
so they swing into the target before it's even in range of Arawn's guns
