X3 AP - going back to the desktop

Post by builder2005 »

Hi Everyone,

I've just started the adventure of X3 AP world.
My big concern is the impossibility to go to the desktop during the playing - sometimes it is necessary to check something online.
When I try the key combination ctrl+alt+del, system window appears and then when I try to go in to I'm back again in the game.
Is there any other way to do it ?
Another issue is when I'm back in the game there are two cursors - the game and the system one - any ideas why?

I'm using Intel 4000 and Radeon HD7670M. RAM 8 GB

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Use Alt+TAB or press the Windows key, which are the normal methods for switching from a fullscreen application back to the desktop.

I believe the 'two cursors on return to game' issue results from having the Steam overlay open.

Thanks.

I bought steam version and don't know how to open the game without Steam...

I have also some problems with graphics - after 30 min of playing it is not working 100% effective/efficient/fluent.
I guess with this graphics card and memory there should not be any problems?

That would rather depend upon whether the game is using the AMD Mobility card or the Intel onboard graphics chipset. The onboard chipset has hardly any dedicated video memory (VRAM) and so will use up your addressable mounted system RAM as shared memory.

Note that I mentioned the Steam Overlay above and not the Steam exe itself.

With all these issues you really need to register your X3TC/X3AP game here and then post in the Tech Sp forum providing a full DxDiag etc.

I use ctrl+esc. Works fine for me. That way no steam interactions.
