Betas are supposed to be broken correct. ED is a Beta. We expect ED to be broken. We signed up to fix broken parts of ED.JimmiG wrote:It's a beta. Betas are supposed to be broken. ED has its problems too, the latest beta 2 update has rendered the game unplayable for huge numbers so they are not exempt from screw ups either.
This is also why I will never pay a premium for the "privilege" of playing a beta. If anything, the beta should be cheaper or even free, since you're doing the developers a favor by beta testing the product. That's actually how it used to work.
People have this idea that beta versions are a way to get early access to the full product, when in fact it's just an early development version.
Retail Release are supposed to be the second highest form of software available (highest being patched release). Retail Release should be a step beyond Release Candidate. No one in their right mind could ever say that Rebirth was even Release Candidate quality. I would be hard pressed to find anyone other than EU4 and Roger who would claim Rebirth was even to the level of a Beta.
Based on the info we have, ED is already more polished, smoother, visually pleasing and content filled than Rebirth. Judging from the fact we are in the second full iteration of a Beta, ED will blow Rebirth out of the water.
