WestHam for life (Sam Allardyce for Prime Minister)
You need the Miner version of a ship, since they're the only ones that can mount the mobile drilling laser. You also need the ore collector and Special Command Software MK1. And the aforementioned drilling lasers of course, otherwise the ships might refuse to mine.Tasogie wrote:Ok for life of me I have tried, I've read I've searched an i have made deals with just about any bloody deity you can imagine.. an I STILL cant figure out how to get started in LU mining.

Once it's all set up, put the ship in a sector containing debries, order it to mine and it should take care of business all by itself.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am

If that doesn't help we need more specific info into what your are doing (exactly which ships/commands/turrets/extensions) to be able to help.

People have been asking about an easy-to-read ship spreadsheet, so I set to work making one. I've made good progress, but am slightly stuck on the more complicated part of the sheet, which is obviously the turrets. I decided that each gun would be represented by a very narrow cell and shaded in its own unique colour as per the Weapon Simplified Comparison Spreadsheet. To achieve this, I need to write a rather complex Conditional Formatting formula which may be slightly out of my depth. Here is the link if you want to have a try / see progress so far:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
What we need to do is: use Conditional Formatting custom formulae to reference turret weapon type cells from the Sheet: 'Reference Ships'. The formulae needs to check whether a bullet point character is present down each weapon column, and if it is; then fill the cells in the Simplified Spreadsheet a certain colour.
If you come up with the solution then please fill in as much as you like; the relevant cells are open to editing, so you may want to keep a backup in case of sabotage! You could also give an example of the formula here.
Oh, I haven't even started on the missiles yet!

Why are you making a ships spreadsheet? is everyone completely oblivious to the fact that there is an in-game ship information repository with all the critical stats in the player console?
This is X, not EvE - you dont have to squeeze every last drop of DPS out of your bling bling tengu by adding another faction ballistic control system..!

Of course we do, Jack08, of course we do.
The ship compendium's a great tool, but some other people in this thread mentioned that it would be handy to have an out-of-game tool to theory-craft with. I need your advanced coding skills to help me finish it!
LUEditors is great too, but it also has a great many columns. I mean, it lists the model file names for everything!

Yes, I am aware of that screen. Show me where it lists the age of the trader? You need time elapsed in order to calculate profitsss/hour, which is what I'm interested in. The UT's make some money, I just want to know how much.kaistern wrote:There is a similar screen for the UTs under additional commands/trade reportTrgtMobius wrote:Is there a way to determine UT profitability/hour? I guess I could zero them and let it SETA overnight as a test.
The flying time is easy.TrgtMobius wrote:*snip*

Just open the info tab by pressing the "u" key when in your ship list or when targeted (or whatever replacement key you may have bound). Alternatively click on the UT in question in your ship list and choose the info tab in the drop down list.
It's at the top, labelled; Flying Time. Given in hours, minutes, seconds.
As for SETAing overnight, I get the feeling Phanon would come and say hello long before the night was up.
About wing hotkeys, you got kaistern's Quick Wings. SMART is useless IMO, and adding every equipment to all EQD would be cheaty as hell. In X3, you need to explore the universe to find what you want.Darkone8752 wrote:*bludgeons Joub with winghotkeys and SMART and a script to add all equipment to all equipment docks because to hell with running to an HQ just to get explorer software*Joubarbe wrote:
So, that's another reason to keep it vanilla then ! Why don't you guys understand than Litcube's Universe is different ? If you don't develop a script under LU, then it's incompatible. And you don't need anything else, really ; except the great XM-R !
EDIT : ok, ok, maybe EMS... But this thing is extraterrestrial.
He's right though. It's mostly unnecessary. Though I'm doing my best to use the stock missile defense and not throw it out in a screaming fit when it doesn't shoot down a heavy missile inbound on a fighter.
Follow this link.Tasogie wrote:I started a game with the trader option, sold the other ships once I had them explore an setup satellites.... but I cant find any "mining ships"... guess I have to keep looking. I gotta say mining in XRM was a hell of alot easier

Update on my problem:
Did a few installs to test, I downloaded 1.3.7, one patch above my current version by changing the download url.
1.3.6 to 1.3.7 with mods doenst work (x-missions and marine repair)
1.3.6 to 1.3.7 without mods(fully removed) doesnt work
In both situations basicly all OCV combat ships are gone.
So last try
1.3.6 to 1.3.7 with mods with an older savegame (4days6hours vs 3days12hours)
Now the whole OCV is gone and their invasion sectors are now race sectors.
So I`m taking this loss and restart on the latest version. This time using marine repair and x-missions from the start so I can hopefully be a bit faster(x-m seems faster mission gold but less gain with secondhand ships)

I did the SETA test. X3 crashed at some point, but rainmeter saved me. My 9 UT's earned 54,724,706 over the course of 19 game hours.
Assuming none died that's 320k/hour. Only half were Level 25 to start, and only 4 had ship speeds >= 100m/s. I would have liked to see the distribution between traders to get a picture of how it varied vs ship speed. Admittedly it's a small sample set but still would have liked to see it.
Given this info I'm going to expand the fleet with my favorite TS, the Caiman Advanced. At < 30 game hours for break even they are on par with the better SHC break even times.
[X3AP LCU] What do I do next?
My sincere apologies if this doesn't belong here, since I'm playing a mod.
So I stumbled upon a let's play live stream of Litcube's universe for Albion Prelude, and I thought it looked amazingly fun so I decided to play it myself. Now, I've played Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude before, but I've never actually gotten very far, so my experience with mid-late game X3 is lacking at best. I think I've maybe set up a station once several years back? Yeah, newbie here.
Anyway, so I set up all the satelites I started with (Went with the m4 +3 m5 start), and tried some trading with a damaged Caiman I bought from someone passing by. Didn't really make much doing that, but then I found some missiles floating around in a box that I sold for a lot. Decided to look for more, and found I could make very decent money just salvaging battlefields for missiles, guns and shields.
Then weird stuff happened. I found a damaged Pirate Kea with an astronaut floating next to it after a battle, which i could claim. Did so, and now this ship is my personal ship. Then I started finding more ships floating around. Claimed them all and sent them to shipyards for selling after repairing them. At one point, I even found a Morrigu M6... That took a while to repair.
Anyway, I don't know if it was absurd luck, or a bug, but since then I've played quite a few hours more, and ships no longer seem to present themselves to me on a silver platter. That being said, I did end up with a lot of money (The Morrigu alone sold for 20 mill or so including the equipment it was equipped with) All together I ended up with around 35 million credits by selling the claimed ships and other assorted loot scavenged from NPC battlefields. Thing is, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do next.
This is basically as far as I've ever gotten in a game of X3 - I've always quit playing before I reached this point. So what do I do? What should I be focusing on? What do I do with 35 million credits? Apologies if this is a ridiculous question, I really have no idea :3
As some extra info, here's the latest reports I've gotten about the activities of Phanon and the OCV:
PhanonCorp Active Subsidiary: TandiTech.
Credit balance 10,5 million
Next Scheduled Procurement: TS
Free agent traders: 4
station sales representatives: 3
factories: 2
military assets: 67
AMTA index: 300
Temporary weakness in Tokyo Lambda detected
Rapid Response Fleet activated but requires escort.
Dunno what all of that means, if it's good or bad. Anyone know? So far I've completely ignored the OCV stuff as I think I can't fight those with my current equipment, but I've attacked two Phenon haulers. Unfortunately, they both managed to escape via jumpdrive before I could manage to destroy them.
Anyway, suggestion on what I should be doing would be very welcome! Please consider though that I'm completely new to all of this. Thanks in advance!
