since i heard some find the way Fuel Cells are bought confusing i created a small Extension which makes these available in the Trade Menu.
basically the Changes in this extension are:
-> replace unused pharma buy port with a Energy sell port on the Fuel Cell Fab (it had no sell port before)
-> add fuel Cells to the Energy Ware Group (sadly for Trade Ports only, not for the Filter Options. if i find out how i will add this, too)
with these small changes you can order your Ships to buy Fuel Cells like you would order them to buy Energy Cells
Download (extract this File into Extensions folder to install it)

Hi, I'm a little confused... I've been using the trade menu on my big ships to buy fuel cells ever since I found a place that sells them. Am I missing something? What's the other way to buy Fuel Cells if not via the trade menu?
well, the Fuel Cell Fab in Gemstone Manufacture does not have a sell port in the Version i edited.. (in fact i didnt find any Sell Port for Fuel Cells when looking through the Game files) and without them you cannt find offers afaik - maybe EGO changed it recently? will recheck tomor.. erm today Evening..

Ah, possibly you were playing the v1.11 version? I started my game with v1.12 so possibly the bug was fixed for me, but remained in your save file? I've not updated to v1.13 yet as not had time to play today.
I've only ever found ONE Fuel offer mind, can't recall where exactly, sorry!

well, i prefer Modding using one consistent Version, so i usually extract and Write-Protect all Game Files before starting. better use an old Version than try to keep up with many small changes you barely can keep track of..

Great script, a real game unbreaker. Could you please do the same for cargolifters? For 3 days now ive been trying to buy them but they just wont show up. I know i could edit save file, but id rather do it as it should be, even if it is a modder that fixes the issue.
well, i think that problem has to be solved another way. thats why i implemented this in such an indirect way, i prefer clean solutions over working around the actual problem.
The core problem is that Shipyards dont get any Drones for some reason, so adding a drone sell port would not help (would be empty as the Shiptraders)
one thing which could help in my opinion would be to add a Drone Production Module to the Shipyard, but i think it is thought to work diffrent, so if i do it it this will be almost surely solved diffrent ^^
additionally
A) i prefer to do what i want and not fulfilling requests and
B) i am currently busy figuring out the maps system to implement completely new Sectors (!= Systems), not just reuse existing ones - maybe i will look into that after i made my BehindRupture-Mod ^^

Its never worked for me, i can place the order and the ship will align and send out cargo drone (i watched this happen 4 time with 2 ships) the drone never returns, so they get my money and i get no product.
Great idea though, i think its stoopid of Ego to not have the option of refueling until your out of fuel.
hmm.. i dont change anything in the trading mechanics.. does the Station have Fuel Cells in its Storage? thats about the only reason i can imagine for this behavior

sounds like a useful mod...everytime i have to buy fuel cells the sliding bar reaches from 0 to 50.000 credits no matter how many fuel cells the ship has left...then i never know how many credits i should choose...most of the time i go with 50k...
the last post was in november but still the mod theoretically would make sense to me and probably save me some cash and nerves...is maybe anyone still using it and can confirm if this still works and is savegame compatible?
safe to add and remove yes, definietly, since it doesnt leave anything in the savegame but i didnt check if the assumptions which it was based upon still apply.. in theory it should because this was something really simple where the mechanic shouldnt have changed

Edit: nvm i just figured it out after waiting 15 minutes for my freighter to restock fuel cells (those fuel stations are quite busy in OL lol).
i didnt know that the captain buys the remaining fuel cells to fill the stock and then repays you the difference to the amount of credits you gave him when giving the command to refuel. i first thought the difference vanishes into thin air
