About

I was annoyed by the 'Press .... to deactivate steering mode.' notification at the bottom of the screen, so I changed the corresponding text entry to be empty. I used the diff merging method, so it should have no side-effects and it should be compatible with every other mod. Currently German, English and French are supported.

Installation

Extract the archive into '\Steam\steamapps\common\X Rebirth\extensions'.

Sadly, I have no idea. However, I would assume it does mark it as modded, since it is an extension.

AFAIK, the only way for a savegame to tell if it had ever been modded is 1 line of TEXT at the top of this TEXT file.

So if you absolutely must revert a game back to "vanilla state", nothing stops you.

How can I do the same for my lang=33 ?
I've created another file and renamed it to L033 but it's not enough it seems..

Hey TheRealBix, can you maybe provide me with a French translated description text for the content.xml? Then I'll officially add French to the list of supported languages.

There's not much to translate now, because the notification isn't even translated ^^

If you do not have one, I suggest you make a Google account and use Google Drive to distribute your works. Just make the item public and distribute the link.

Can you put this on Nexus please. I'd feel safer it coming from there then some random download site like Mediafire a place I know isn't excatlly a legit place. It's more like a pirate haven.

Mediafire is fine. (I prefer Mega but..)
Nexus is often down, and downloads form there are very annoying.

thing like this "steering mode" or for example "crouch mode" in FPS games
dont need BIG annoying text line over screen *facepalm*
its just need one small icon if mode is on (for the moment when you forget)
or it generally not requires!

I have uploaded the mod to the Nexus and changed the download link in the first post. I will not re-post the mediafire link since I plan to use the Nexus exclusively for modding.

I'm noticing that the subtitles of other text is often staying on the screen permanently.
Just opening and closing the main menu fixes this, but I thought I'd report this in any case.
