Mod Library [ X: Rebirth ] [Updated 12.08.13]

This list will contain all of the current mods written for X:Rebirth. Methods for installing the mods is generally provided by the mod creator, but is as simple as creating an "extensions" folder in your x:rebirth root folder, and placing the unpacked zip file in there.

Please label your posts with [MOD] so I can find them! :)

Also, there is a report that (edit)mod ID numbers must be different for X:R to read all of them, rather than the first one with a certain mod id number (1.0 for example.)

I was going to suggest that you add some text to your OP, something to the effect of "be sure to add [MOD] to the title of your post" and then later on have a link to the search for [MOD] in the title, just in case you fall off a bridge and can't keep up with it...

And then i discovered that The Game isn't the only thing that doesn't quite work as expected around here. That search returns zero.

Hmmm. :P Well, I can certainly include that text - it is a good idea and would help sort things out, but I think most folks already understand to do that to their posts.

Did you use search? Or extra search? I know the parameters are a bit funky in extra search. :/

Just a heads up for a little issue at the moment, in content.xml several of the mods are using 1.0 for the id, that needs to be something unique or the game will only load the first one it finds with that id.

Anyway, I finished a first porting of my X3 TC MOD for replacing the stars (only stars for now) wich are so ugly in rebirth too (seems they never got to make a decent skybox after X2), it will be released in a few days, here it is:

isnt the problem more that nobody changed their Mod IDs in the content.xml? would be more clever to change this instead of the Version number ;)

This page is available to keep track of mod ID numbers. Simply enter a couple of fields, press the button, and use the ID# given.

Hopefully this simple solution will serve for now.

how can i know that any mod is savedgame friendly?
I mean if i using them on existing savedgame and removing them can i still use that savedgame or not.

i think for now you have to trust the word of the creators. there is currently no parameter so you have to ask and force load the Savegame - and i think currently its more guesswork.

question ist: is there a "soft"-parameter or the like for mods which can be safely removed in the content.xml? dindt find something like that in the example files so far..
