What is the best joystick to play Rebirth?

I would buy the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS.

Thank you.

My only concern with the 16000M from the pictures is number of buttons on the base of the stick,,, are these easily accessible during flight.
As for the best... mmmm ... very much down to personal choice as all have inherent negatives and positives.
Will be interesting to see any feedback from owners of the 16000m.

In fact all the buttons need not be especially accessible in flight. Of the 6 buttons on the right, I can put functions that I do not need during the fighting.

It is the precision of the joystick that interests me and later I will buy the throttle

Not trying to be pendantic in the slightest but if these buttons can be given functions when not in flight then why not use a keyboard.
In my opinion a good joystick or in this intended case as a HOTAS ( throttle to be purchased later) should have enough finger/thumb controls to negate the need for a keyboard/mouse....... especially when you consider the emergence of VR.
It will be interesting to see how Egosoft manage to pull off the control system in Rebirth VR and what limitations apply....

I love saitek x-56 but I do not have the money to buy it now or for an RV headset. We must also consider the price ...

I can still buy the saitek x-56 later but for now I have to buy cheaper.

Warthog with pedals
(price is a minor thing when you are talking about the best)

@ BigBANGtheory .... Cannot argue with your opinion of Warthog,,, but it lacks twist on stick and I have a rather ancient roll top desk and no way could I fit pedals in the footwell,, so will have to stick (no pun) with the X52 pro...Still waiting for the perfect HOTAS.

I do not want to use pedals. And the handle technology is the same as in the warthog.

@ watchlive ... you might want to consider the Thrustmaster T Flight Stick,, appears to have good reviews, reasonable price (while you save those euros) ,, worth a google for more info.
This is a quote from a purchasers review Amazon UK dated Nov 2015 "decent joy stick, used mainly on X games, recommended"
The final decision and reading reviews rests with you.... Good Luck.. :)

I struggled for many years to find a good accurate stick to replace my old Sidewinder Force Feedback mk1 once serial ports went the way of the dodo.

I bought a T16000M 5 years ago after reading how incredibly accurate it is. I haven't looked back and it's as good as new. I know there are better sticks if you're willing to spend more, but for the money I just can't fault it.

Looking at the FCS it looks identical to the original model, so I would presume that a lot of the of the innards are the same too. The feedback on the FCS suggests it is just as highly rated and unmatched in it's price range. I know that if my stick died I'd get a T16000M FCS.

On a side note, I didn't realise that Thrustmaster did a throttle controller, I will take a look into that out of interest. I was tempted by a CH Pro Throttle but was always concerned about the jitter problem.

I can always find an excuse to spend money on moi,, hopefully watchlive will get a cash injection over Christmas and buy the throttle control so we can have a review from him, unless Slayersyd indulges himself first.

Hopefully watchlive got a little more to add to his budget.

I've enquired with TM if the original T16000 stick with green LED's appears as a single USB device with the TWCS Throttle (quite important I gather with the X games). Unfortunately, with English not being their first language of the support desk, they managed to completely misread what I asked. Needless to say I have had to re-ask.

From what I can gather you may require a hub for a single usb connection for X games..... info gathered from Elite Dangerous forum... :) or :(

XR supports multiple input sources since v2.0 I think it was, and the T.16000M HOTAS can use the TARGET software which will present a single virtual device to your games if used.

The T.16000M FCS is a nice, good value joystick.
