I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing keyboard crashes? I am running X3 Albion on i7 Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2 16GB Ram AMD Radeon !GB VRam. The problem is multicomplicated--if I alt-tab to view the forum, and go back to the game, my keyboard doesn't work, no response. I usually have to hold the restart button on the back of my Mac to restart. The game works okay if I don't switch screens, but this problem persists if I use my Seitek X52 Flight Control System. The keyboard stops working and after a few minutes, the FCS stops working too, hell of a place to be in during a fight. If I unplug X52 from the USB port, I regain the keyboard, but other parts of the game are buggy. X52 works with no problems with X-Plane and other program. I reinstalled X3Albion and Apple offers no updates. Is there a fix to this? Thank you for your help.

@ davidphd:

Ingame, hit ESC and go to the Gameplay menu option. Under there is an option to turn on 'run game in background' (or something like that). What this does is keep the game running when you've alt-tabbed out of the game. Toggle that on and then try to alt-tab out. The game should keep running and not lose connectivity with your keyboard and joystick.

If that doesn't work, run it in windowed mode and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks...it worked, sort of. Regained keyboard control, but unclickable mouse. Speed control on the wheel works, but no joy on clicking the blue box to autodock. But, can switch screens now. I still have to restart the game to get mouse control back, so it's not really a fix, but I can now save the game without losing my place. My Seitek still has issues, same as before.

I did a clean reinstall of my X3:TC copy which I bought in CD form brand new many years ago. This was following a bunch of mods I made a hash of installing. Completely deleted all the files, no mods left in the new files. Installed correctly but the launcher won't run - get the message "Terran Conflict quit unexpectedly". I have copied the top half of the error report below.

It used to be supported by Virtual Programming, but I contacted them and they say Egosoft took over supporting the Mac version. My guess is that since it's just 2.0 version on the disk that finding the mac patches will help. I believe I had patched up to 3.0 before.

Egosoft created their own port of the game a while ago and don't support the VP version, AFAIK. The full Egosoft version 3.2.4 is available on Steam and the App Store. It's a much, much better version than the old VP one.

Hello!

I'm playing X3 Terran Conflict: Albion Prelude for Mac OS X, downloaded from Steam.

I used to play X3:TC before the update to High Sierra without any problems.
Finally got around to downloading X3:AP after the update, but the game randomly crashes either right after the game loads (after the menu screen), or during the game. I'm mainly just idle, toying with the stock exchange to make money, and the game would suddenly just quit, no error message, nothing other than the apple generated error message.

I've kept a copy, so let me know if you need that.

Specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphic card

I am also experiencing this issue. Is there any known solution?
