Reliable way of finding pirate M6+ ships?
I've been playing around with marines, and I'm having trouble finding targets.
I know that there are methods to capturing ships belonging to the commonwealth races without too much of a negative hit, but I'm wanting to avoid that if possible. What I really want to do is steal a bunch of pirate ships, but so far I've only been able to find and capture 2 nemesises (nemesi?).
So... is there an area that commonly has those ships without being flooded with galleons and carracks?

Generally the closer you get to pirate core sectors like gaian star, the more of them you see.
But as a rule, if you get M6s, you get M7s and M2s.
Edit: Oh and it's nemeses, (nem-eh-sees)

In my current game, my fight rank regularly spawns me pirate M6 on protect/kill/patrol missions. If you hunt around border sectors where there is not much of a military presence you can accept the missions and cap the M6 without local NPC forces shooting them as you try to board.
All depends on your fight rank though.

What fight rank do I need to get in order for that to start happening?heratik wrote:In my current game, my fight rank regularly spawns me pirate M6 on protect/kill/patrol missions. Game played: X3:AP unless otherwise specified
I think I am on militant, can't remember. What spawns for you currently when you take these missions?IConquer wrote:What fight rank do I need to get in order for that to start happening?heratik wrote:In my current game, my fight rank regularly spawns me pirate M6 on protect/kill/patrol missions. You could go to the Duke Home sector south of Heavens Assertion they usually spawn a Zeus M1 and a couple of M6 Nemesis escorts.
Or go to Gaian Star and the surrounding sectors there usually are some M7s and often even M1/2 another good sector is Vestibule of Creation since it regulary spawns a Brigantine and some M6.
Brennans triumph and Dannas Chance also sometimes spawn Pirate big ships, but they often get estroyed by commonwealth patrols so they are a bit harder to find.

If you want M6 and up, the above comments have you covered --- the big pirate area (Gaian Star etc) has M1, M2, and M7 most reliably for me, and Duke's always has M6 and M1 (relatively easy boarding practice there).
If, however, you want M6+ (heavy corvettes), then I'm afraid to see I've never seen them (belonging to pirates) outside of missions. I capture M6s and M7s regularly on defend station or assassination missions, and I've seen M6+s, so that's your best bet. Do combat missions until the enemies are worthy of capture.
