Hey X-Forums, long time no see.
I ran into the following problem: I just made my way to Omicron Lyrae to get my first plot mission done (starting out as nostalgic argon). However, after accepting the mission it seems I took too much time exploring the sector. I was told that the escort had departed and the mission was aborted. Can I restart the mission at some point or do I have to load an old save?

This must be TC you are playing.
I know that if you ignore it,rather than accept it, the mission is re-offred when you enter OL another time.
Not sure about this situation though.
If you have a recent save from just before the mission was offered,then it would not be a bad idea to start from there.
You could try leaving the sector and coming back again,
That may trigger the mission again.
If all else fails,there is a plot restart in S/M
