So unfortunately when I get the real site online none of the links on this forum to the specific files will work.

While this is indeed unfortunate, if you can compile a list with script/mod names, their direct download links and maybe even a link to their topics, it should be fairly easy to replace the download links, although it may take a little while.

Testing bbcode that the site is putting out

It took a while to work out the new file structure but I seem to have coded it alright.

Good progress so far.

Do you think that you will be able to recover the file descriptions, author, download count, and other meta data? It would be a shame to lose all that.

Is it safe to assume that you had no backup of the site at all? Even an old one might be helpful?

All that information should mostly be all there now (apart from images) and hopeully you can see and edit the files you have uploaded. I do have a few back ups of the site but i'm having to pick bits out and integrate them in the new one.

I think some files which did originally have descriptions / author don't now due to have special characters in the filename {@$ ect. Because when I re uploaded them the new jdownloads component stripped all the special characters (and spaces?) away from the filename which means I could not link the old database to them.

Trying to download the simple and small No Fog mod (all of them actually) and can only download the No.Fog.Original.View.Distance.X3AP but not No.Fog.Original.View.Distance.X3TC or No_Fog_2.5comp_Fake_Patch_V1.0.
Why is there a permission to download for one file but not the other two?

I don't know why downloading them files where a problem, i've changed some settings now. Previously you download directly off the server which is better for large files but now over php script.

Hopefully fixed the problem.

Thanks for reporting the problem.

Either I'm doing something wrong and it's the client's side fault or something is going on the server's side. I'm registered and activated through email and these are the results from 1 minute ago:

http://postimg.org/image/kctczp5fn
http://postimg.org/image/kbjf6a3lv/

One is OK, the other 2 not. Strange and peculiar for me at least.

Edit: I got the files I wanted, but not through your site. I copy pasted the Skydrive Download Mirror BBCode you had for NoFogAP and accessed the onedrive file collection you have, and downloaded it directly from there, bypassing your website. The problem of your website still exists.

So my suggestion to everyone who have difficulties on your website is to go to the respective OneDrive or GoogleDrive directly and get the files from there.

I can confirm Bambacha's problem with downloading files. It's also not limited to this single mod, but affects others as well. The ones in the jDownloads Latest list for example.

Sorry been a busy couple of days. I can't see why its got that problem as in the database they all have the same access, will keep looking.

The admin access level shows the download as normal that's why I didn't notice it, but the registered level which I was not expectng has the problem aswell as public.

Not really a fix but...

Think I fixed the problem, I just changed the 'who has access' php code. Although this means that I have no special control for changing who has access to the downloads. Now everyone should be able to view the available files.

Don't need it so its a quick fix solution.

Just coming along to say a couple things:

- Requiring registration before being able to download some trivial script isn't very good
- Having a seperate name and username is confusing
- I still can't download the script, and it's not available anywhere else.

Edit: I found the backup link. Move along.

That shouldn't be the case. Downloading files should be possible without having to login. As mentioned on xdownloads.co.uk, there are some links which still don't work for some reason. So please report the script you cannot download.

Edit: Okay, I see what the problem is. Apparently, only downloads from the X3AP and XBTF section works. In all other section overviews, the warning "info You do not have permission to download this file." is displayed and you're redirected to the overview page, when you try to download the file.

Yeah it's a known bug, i'm trying to find out why its doing that. All downloads should be available to download without logging in.
