Description
A rare pirate device that allows you to steal cargo from other ships.

The Cartel Shield Hacker is a viable way for a privateer to obtain the equipment and weapons that he needs to play his game -- even if the entire Commonwealth hates him. On the other hand, obtaining wares can be a dangerous undertaking.

The device itself is sold only at pirate bases, and is usually out of stock at most bases. You will have to hunt for one of these rare (but valuable) hacking tools.


Usage

Before you can use the Shield Hacker you need to define it's hotkey in the controls menu

You will have to purchase the custom ware (Cartel-Inc Shield Hacker) at a Pirate base. Not all Pirate bases stock the ware at any given moment in time, so you may have to look around to find one. You will also need a Transporter Device and a Freight Scanner.

Once all the prerequisites are met, simply fly up to the target ship, press the hotkey and select a ware to steal. The operating range of the device is very short, only a couple of hundred meters. You must stay within this range during the transport process. Due to the complicated nature of the process, multiple items will be transfered one at a time, each time risking detection.


Installation
Install with Plugin Manager or extract the file into your "X3 Terran Conflict" folder ("X3 Terran Conflict\addon" for AP). The archive contains the correct relative paths, so every thing should be put into the right places.

Now this is an interesting script.

May I suggest a few things?
A smaller ship has a smaller chance of being noticed.
Pressing the hotkey again stops the transfer.
Wares can be used to decrease the chance of being noticed or increase the transfer rate.

The script seems to steal one more ware than the targeted ship actually has. Also, weapons/shields can only be stolen once per command.

I cannot reproduce this. What exact steps can you take to reproduce this behavior? Include target and player ship info.

Sorry, I could not parse that one. Is that a request or an observation?

Installed weapons and shields cannot be completely stolen from a target ship; not with a single hack attempt. You may be able to steal some, but not all installed weapons and shields.

- Display message if scan or hack fails.
- Improved display of amount of ware remaining on target ship. (Echofinder)
- Small Target ship has lower chance of detection. (Echofinder)
- Player ship smaller than M6 has reduced chance of detection. (Echofinder)
- Player ship with Cargo Bay Shielding has reduced chance of detection. (Echofinder)
- A second press of the hotkey cancels transfer in progress. (Echofinder)

I enjoy it with pleasure.
Posting mostly to highlight that this script works with Litcube Universe. And with Mayhem. And whatever. Its so EPIC!
