... at least not on Mac 3.2 anyway:
The following thread was locked as 'no longer relevant', but have to say was life saver for me, like the thread's OP, thought I'd lost hours of game time ...

I got exactly the same problem, and following the given advice solved it for me too. So ok I'm on Mac not PC, but thus far I've not noticed any differences at all, I copied over my actual set of script additions from my last PC 3.2 game (handful of Lucike's that were newer than or not in the Bonus Pack, SEWN, SCS, and a couple of others), and everything was working fine - I can load my PC saves too, though have started new game on the Mac.
However, on this Mac run through, I did hit a problem trying to get the Hub Plot to trigger and I was initially assuming (woefully) that my quick and dirty workaround for that had probably caused this Aldrin bug:
Solving my Hub Plot problem was 'fun' (kind of), in that A, I'd never looked into the Mission Director before, other than installing Apricotslice's Medium Hub Plot, and worse, B, I can't install 'X3 Editor 2 ... setup.exe' to look at the Vanilla MD files on my Mac, can I ... except it turns out I can, thanks to a 14 day trial of Crossover, which (very elegantly) runs most Windows (98, XP, Vista) apps in what are essentially WINE wrappers, and even automates the download and install of the latest relevant versions of the likes of '.Net' frameworks where needed. Brilliant! And at £25 to license, instead of £way-too-much for whatever Windoze OS and a nuisance extra partition for Bootcamp - suck on that Microsoft !
Long story short, put some debug 'incoming messages' in temp copies of the Vanilla MD files, till I finally concluded that I'd passed all the trigger checks for the Hub Plot, right up to the point where L2M007 should have been being called, except for some reason it simply wasn't. So in the end, simply settled for taking out the Library statement from L2M007 and having it run standalone - which gave me my Hub Plot, no problems; but I did wonder at the time whether I would inadvertently cause further problems down the line by doing this.
Having viewed the above thread though, doesn't look like I've inflicted this Aldrin bug on myself. What is different for me this Mac run through, is that Aldrin triggered before I'd finished Hub, and now PHQ has triggered whilst I'm in the middle of Aldrin. All of which is perfectly possible in Vanilla I believe, but far as I can recall from my one long PC run through, I'd not had any of those three running concurrently, and I thought I'd completed PHQ before starting Aldrin, though I may be mistaken about that.
So my best guess is this Aldrin bug only shows up in certain contexts of Plot concurrencies, and since it can effectively be ignored (once you know what's going on), it's not really worth spending time to pin down.
As a final aside, @CBJ, you were kind enough to give me some advice re getting my ancient P4 to a state where it could at least attempt running TC (which it eventually did, just about), including responding to my query whether a Macbook Air could handle X3TC with some perfectly valid doubts about whether an HD3000 IGP could really cut it. Have to say on medium settings, 1.7 Core i5 with 384MB HD3000 is really doing a pretty good job, some stuttering as the object count goes up, but mostly around 30-40 fps.
In conclusion - if the above referenced thread had not been locked, I'd assume it would have been perfectly reasonable, maybe preferable, to have added my experience there rather than in a new topic.
Off to complete Aldrin and get stuck into PHQ (which is all I'm really after ), and hoping I don't get any more hiccups ....
X3TC Aldrin bug 'fixed' in 3.2 ? ... er, actually NOT ...
