|
|
The Steam Summer Sale has just started and the X-games are included. Until the 23rd July all X-games will be available with a 50% discount. If any X-games are missing from your collection, now is the time to complete the set!
X3: Albion Prelude 2.1 and X3: Terran Conflict 3.2b
Spanish and Czech fans will be pleased to know that the translation teams have spared no effort to give you the best game experience in the latest patches, with full Spanish text localisation in Albion Prelude 2.1 and Spanish and Czech with Terran Conflict 3.2b.
We have also taken the chance to fix some of those annoying little bugs that have been standing in the way of enjoying X3: Albion Prelude for some time now. With version 2.1 the Rapid Response fleets will regain their former strength and help in making the universe a safer place. Some plot bugs have been fixed and an issue with registering custom hotkeys is a thing of the past.
X3: Albion Prelude 2.1 and X3: Terran Conflict 3.2b are from now on available for download over Steam. The Steam client will automatically update your game to the latest version, provided it has not been configured to prevent this.
Update: X3: Albion Prelude 2.1a
X3: Albion Prelude has been updated to 2.1a to fix an issue some people were having with the Deploy Lasertower mission in the main plot. Your Steam client will update as usual.

Will the patch be made available without steam? I'm worried about it overwriting my scripts/mods and would prefer to install it manually.

It looks like the TC update is just the additional languages.
I am pretty sure X3AP updates will only be via Steam. The No-Steam exe was always said to be potentially unsupported after release even though I am sure people can make it work with mods and updates etc if they know what they are doing. It should not be too much of a problem for mods as long as you note any change in quantity and numbering of new cat/dats before if necessary renumbering any false patches - this update doesn't seem to need that though. Any scripts and files that are common between the update and the mod and so clash will have to be resolved by the mod authors though.

AWESOMENESS!!! I was waiting for this long time! Now just to decide between Goldbox or Superbox... I am mainly fan of X3 Reunion but I am looking forward for the newer ones, but I also wanted to try the older ones (I played X2, I meant X1s). Are the X1s really worth the few euros more?
Well when I decide that, then I'll have to decide between Battlefield 2 and X

Yes that sunny DLC would be great, I did not notice it in time last summer.

I saw the patch start before I sent to bed last night, was more excited about what is in it that the steam sale. Is the anything like a change log anywhere.
Thanks, for fixing the RRF.

well, I noticed that RRF is said to be fixed but no mention of UNIVERSE TRADERS?
before I allow this patch to 'fix' my game, I'd also like to know if the:
 |
Bothersome Freight Drone Exploit has been patched out?
|
|
Thanks for the patch btw Egosoft people....

| You didn't really miss anything, it was just a new sector (Harmony of Perpetuity if I recall correctly ) and you just get a mission to go to it and once you do you get a free solar power plant. The sector has 300% sunlight so its a good production base for E-cells. |

So the good news is that the X3AP patch did nothing to harm my mods at all.
The bad news is that now I can't seem to start the Argon plot. I'm trying to decide if that's a bug or a feature. >.>

Yep. Not only did I meet the requirements, but I had the mission, and hadn't started it yet. I had been contacted to report to Argon Sector M148. After the patch, the mission was gone.
I suppose I could cruise around in sector 148, or try playing in the war zones to see if that jump starts it.
Meh.

Yes just go to M148 and your mission guidance will pick up from there. The update removed the everlasting 'go to M148' briefing that hung around throughout and after the plot was over, but unfortunately also affected those still between qualifying for and starting the plot from outside the main Argon War gamestart who had that briefing intentionally.
