Do you think some races won't be in X:R?

I think it's been outright stated by the developers that certain races from X3 won't appear in Rebirth. Not exactly sure where it was said, though...

Also kinda doubt we'll be seeing both terran and argon together. Pure speculation though.

I voted 'no' but my real answer is 'sort of'. I'm guessing that some races will be destroyed as political entities but there will still be survivors, who knows how common. The idea that any full race could be destroyed in that period is ridiculous, as you can find all 5 races in virtually every commonwealth sector (including Albion sectors), and none of them act as a homogeneous blob that can be "recalled" and killed in some convenient cataclysmic event.

As a plot device, to move more towards corporations and factions rather than races-as-factions, that's all that's needed.

I think it could be a possible plot device that a race was wiped out during the times between Terran Conflict and X Rebirth, but maybe that race will make a grand reappearance? Or a few remants of the race could remain throughout the galaxy such as a Khaak ship hidden amongst asteroids.

Paranid ships are nice, would like them to stay, argon or terrans are needed for the 'basic human' comparison. Either khaak or xenon should be in, preferably xenon, because I want a limitless supply of enemies to kill, and xenon are more interesting than khaak to fight.

Split I can take or leave, teladi might be interesting because of their whole profitsssss schtick.

Well I'm fairly certain the Paranid will be back.

I would expect that the Teladi will be (ppprrrofffittsssss)

The Dev's keep hinting that some races may/may not be back.
I suspect that some races will have disappeared but will reappear during the course of the story (Xenon/Khaak?)

The Kha'ak are a re-hashed plot device race from X2. Its dissapointing that they were still around after even that game. They just appeared and made X2 frustrating with their unending attacks on my businesses, and I couldn't destroy them at all. If they go for good... Huzzah!!

The Yaki had dull-looking argon-like ships which I wouldn't mind if I did not see ever again. The Yaki don't add anything to the game because there is very limited Pirate Career Functionality developed for the player. The Yaki are another plot device race that should have been killed off.

The Xenon are yet another leftover plot device race that just linger in their own sectors, but their ships are kinda cool looking..and the Xenon have a more complete story in the X-Universe. Egosoft are not going to create another race that has such a rich story behind them like they did with the Xenon. Just look at the Kha'ak and Yaki as examples.

I bet its the Yaki and Kha'ak that dissapear in Rebirth.

The Terrans cannot be let go..their ships are too cool looking. The Argons should be destroyed, and their remnants absorbed into a newly founded Terran Empire. Its better to fight for Earth and our Solar System than an imaginary human homelworld, and all we need is one human race afterall.

The Argon, Yaki and Kha'ak are the three I would cut from Rebirth.

Here's my guess:

Kha'ak - Gone
Yaki - Gone
Argon and Terrans - either combined, or terrans cut back off from the rest
Xenon - Cut off (because they obviously won't have highways running near their X3 Sectors). May make small appearances though.

All 5 main common wealth races will be available, either as major territory, or we'll at least see members of their races as being in another race's territory when it happened.

I expect people to be cut off, but I don't see any of the major races as extinct, or completely wiped out.

With the highways extended into new territories though, we may see a new race or 2.

i dont think it will be as the races as much though, but i think we will see Split charicters, Teladi, Paranid and Boron etc... as for the Argon and Terrans, again i think it will all be torn down, there will be a sort of Human species, what their name will be is more the question...

as for the Xenon, surely a "race" of highly advanced computers would be able to find a way to survive if the other races do... and the Khaak, well this could be an interesting one, the khaak being sort of insect like, they could make a come back, a potentially big one really, OFF in TC yes killed the Khaak threat, but they took down only 1 Queen, who said there is not numerous other Queens... with swarms of Khaak clusters/corvettes/carriers/destroyers to boot. for all we know the Queen we took out could have been the "youngest" of the Queens, perhaps she had only a Tiny force at her dispossal!!
