I'm just getting into AP (I've played a little bit previously, but not much), & I installed this t-file, so thank you for another great adjustment kurush.

But I find I do have a question, & since I'm playing modified, I can't ask if it's "vanilla" behaviour in x-universe, could this modification have increased the mission rewards by any chance? 'cos I'm getting mission payouts way over the odds of what I'm used to from TC.

I have not seen kurush around recently but, no, this will not change the rewards. Your rewards will increase with your fight rep and race rank, so you are probably just doing better in your game this time through.

Ah. Thank you. (I shouldn't have had higher ranks 'cos I play a very conservative early game, but I had to restart for other reasons, & now the rewards are more in line with what I'm used to, so maybe I had picked up some rank somehow).

Mission Briefing Fix v4 by kurush

New
  • Assassination Missions
  • Race names are now in yellow so that they are easier to spot.

Is it better to download this file than the one on the first post?
Is it still "vanilla" friendly ? (non *modified*)

"Better" depends on what you think is important, I suppose. :)

Version 4 adds two new features. I like them, which is why I posted the update (after a brief chat with kurush).

Version 4 also uses the more robust method of a unique language file. Is using the 0003 file really vanilla friendly? If so, then that might be something that some people desire. For sure, the 0003 file is problematic in some languages; AP 3.0 0003 file will take precedence over kurush's in languages 81, 86, and 88 (I do not know which those are off the top of my head). Also, the 0003 file conflicts with other mods that use that file.

So, yeah, v4 is probably "better" unless you really care about vanilla friendliness, in which case you might like the older version better.

I hope that helps. :)

Also, I found a couple more things that I can add, so I will update the update in the next few days.

What I really meant was : does this version flag the game as modified ? :)

EDIT: yes it does^^

Yes.

When I post the next update, I will include both versions: vanilla-friendly-but-conflict-prone and better-but-modified. :)

May I suggest to indicate into the readme that existing missions don't have their briefing updated?
I was under the impression that the mod was not working (or conflicting with another) until I noticed that mission weren't updated when relaunching the game.

Do you mean that it doesn't update active missions but only missions i accept after installing the mod? But it doesn't require starting a new game, right?
