Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, I have a habit of staring right at the solution I'm looking for and not seeing it. But some of the command windows are a tad too small. The list of my properties in particular feels exceptionally cramped; I'd like to be able to columnize it to see as many ship as I can without scrolling. AT the very least fill the screen.
Also with the property window: Any way to reorganize this data? It's arranged by sector, but I'd like to arrange it other ways, such as keeping all of my STs and UTs together and apart from other ships to see at a glance if any are standby/empty/dead. It'd be nice to get my current account balance on this screen too.

Unless there is something in scripts and modding that I haven't seen, I don't think you can resize your property menu (I haven't played AP yet, so this is info from TC version).
There is an options tab on the far top right of the property menu that you can filter your property, if that helps at all (group by sector, ship type, etc., this is at the BOTTOM of the list though so make sure to scroll down)
I tend to group by ship type, and then further by my own naming scheme (So, I like to keep my UT/ST at the bottom of my list so they are separate - So I name them accordingly - ZUT 01 Chokaro, ZUT 02 Chokaro etc - Z to keep it at the end of the list, UT to define the orders, and then number). This keeps things tidy enough for me, at least.

Aside from the choices amongst the list of filters in the Player Assets menu, most people rely on their own naming schemes for ships, as Fattyfat indicated.
A good naming scheme is critical when it comes down to organizing ships in a meaningful and useful way and being able to quickly gather information about them.

Also in the options menu is the ability to turn additional information off. It should be located near the top. I don't remember exactly what it removes, but you'll see about twice the amount of ships on the screen if you do so.
In addition to doing that, I organize by class and use my own naming system to further section off ships. Ships that I rarely need to check up on (UTs, CAG/CLS, a carrier's fighters, etc) are assigned a homebase and hidden from the property window.

I'm playing Reunion at the moment, and I'm not seeing any option to reorganize in the options menu. Only the ability to toggle material. I guess that's a TC addition.
I'll go check for a script that might be able to retro that into Reunion.
