Like the title says, TC no longer appears in My Games menu in steam.
I still have a shortcut on my desktop but it doesn't do anything.
I stopped playing TC for about a month while I waited for the new patch, but apart from that, I haven't installed anywhere else, or uninstalled etc.
Any suggestions?

Update:
I killed steam in task manager and tried the X3:TC short cut again. It prompted me to log into steam which I did, then it told me this game is currently unavailable, and to try again later.

Whew.
Ok, this appears to just be weird steam behaviour. TC is now back in my games list and is updating.

Well mine has disappeared and I am not seeing it return as of yet. I tried to verify the game files and it finished instantly (never done that before for any game), it also says that it is taking up 7,000MB or so disk space.
Any ideas?
Edit: Well after restarting my machine and reconnecting to the net the game was still 'not available', but I tried to verify the game files again and it has now started to download the game again.
So its going to be several more hours before the game may work.

It seems to be a few isolated incidents (not that this is any consolation to you two) in that there are not floods of complaints about this here. My own Steam Client list and games seem OK. Perhaps there was a triggered background update/repair of some sort and most people didn't even notice it before it was all completed.
Just as a confidence check I suggest doing a thorough system virus scan with a reputable AV software to remove any doubt about malware causing corruptions.
If you have the retail version or a vanilla backup you can always copy in the TC gamefiles into the Steam folder and then verify to save download time.

Just on the back of this- can any of you fine Moderators/Admins briefly explain how i can add my retail X3TC so it counts as a Steam copy, rather than a standalone copy?

@ Chemical-mix: Even better, I can direct you to the FAQ.
