x3 crashes after about 2 minutes of play

I am an old school x3 player and have worked through x3 issues on multiple systems in the past. I cannot get past this.
i have tried using just a single fx processer, a single cpu processer. all the tips I could find in these forums. Drivers seem to be up to date. Here is my dxdiag... i miss this game, please help!

There have been several reports of problems from people with the same CPU as you, most of which seem to have been solved by a BIOS update. It's probably worth giving that a go before trying anything else.

You say that drivers "seem to be up to date" but they are clearly not. I can only assume that means you're relying on Windows Update to check them. Don't! Get your updates direct from the hardware makers' sites, in your case AMD for the graphics and Realtek for the sound.

Also, if you're able to get a crash log from the Windows event viewer, that may give us more of a clue as to where the problem is originating from.

It is what I wanted, but sadly it's the generic "something went wrong" scenario, which doesn't help us much.

Another random suggestion. Your PC is ASUS, so are you running the GamerOSD? If so then you might like to try turning it off.

I am not using Gamer OSD. One of the few settings I have not messed with is the bit rate on the sound card. does that matter?

It shouldn't. If it does make a difference then that suggests that there's a problem with your sound drivers or codecs.
