Any word on how OOS combat will be handled in Rebirth? Reading about how OOS works in TC makes me want to cry, it'd be nice to have a more predictable and easily understood system in the next game.

Hope for the best and expect the worst. That way if I'm wrong , I'll be pleasantly surprised .

AP OOS combat is already a huge improvement over TC, but in case of Rebirth it is a bit trickier as the whole sector system is different so what exactly counts for OOS and how it works will only be known after the release

Please define what sectors are in Rebirth. I do not know.

IIRC, they said that everything beyond a certain distance from you will be considered OOS, and it was confirmed that physics will not be simulated OOS.

Well, it is a bit silly to try simulate the entire universe, whether it is connected with jumpgates or highways. AP OOS is, as mentioned before, much better than TC ever was.
