[Music, that's MUSIC] I promised myself I wouldn't do this...

Post by Silver Surfer » Sat, 14. Jan 12, 00:17

A few more musical things (I use 'musical' in its loosest possible sense).

The link below is not going to send you to some hack/crack/govt site for all of the permanently frightened among us. It just goes to the Soundcloud which is a musical site where I can leave tracks for the few to listen to. The set (album?) is called 'Soundscape Dimensions' and contains a number of tracks that have been inspired by TNBT i.e. X Rebirth. Albion Prelude has thrown a spanner in the works somewhat but hey ho.

I was going to use the advice presented to me in my previous post but, to be honest, I'm far too drunk to know what I'm doing.

Rest assured that the link ONLY takes you to the Soundcloud, nowhere else (I've clicked it myself and it does what it's supposed to).

http://soundcloud.com/hollow-infinity/s ... dimensions

Btw for those who don't know/haven't sussd it yet, I am Silver Surfer on here (Egosoft Forums) but 'Hollow Infinity' regarding the music (see my sig below). My early stuff is on the X-Superbox fan material dvd. I am not trying to redirect you to some nefarious site where Hell awaits the unwary.

If you click on this post, how about listening to the music?

Nice work .... Love the ambience...

I spent some time listening to your original music hosted on your site and you seemed to have developed a lot since then. The latest offerings on souncloud are really good. Keep up the good work sir!

Good work man.

Great tunes. I'd totally forgotten about the superbox bonus disc. I'm playing pieces of X back through a sonos amp to a pair of JBL control 5's, sounds real nice & will keep me entertained while coding away. Doing Akeela's Beacon at the moment :)

First up, a big 'THANK YOU' for all your comments, they are appreciated.

I have not been back into this forum since the OP in January. Reasons are many.
As I don't visit here much anymore, this is to tie up some loose ends.

My website has gone, along with the downloads that were available through it.
Purely a financial decision. Paying for people to listen to/download the music made no sense.

I only have a free account on Soundcloud and downloads are restricted
because of it but the main reason downloads are not available is that the
tracks are very much works in progress and are liable to change. I don't
want different versions floating around.

I'm going to reach my time limit on the free Soundcloud soon and havn't
decided what to do when that happens. I may look into setting up a free
website and have future tracks on YT or something.

I'm really proud that two of my albums were included in the X Superbox
and that people are still listening to them and enjoying them.

That's about it I think. Sorry to disappoint those who wanted the tracks
(you never know, they may get included in a future X Megabox  ).

Any real major change in what I'm doing will get posted in this forum but,
for now, any new tracks will just appear on Soundcloud.

Once again, thank you for your comments.

As this is a relatively major thing I thought I'd post it here as promised.

I've upgraded my soundcloud account as I was at the end of the free uploads. Selling my soul to the Devil wasn't pleasant but needs must :)

For now the tracks remain non-downloadable. That's because I've yet to finalise mixes and track layout.

I'm thinking about releasing the first set to coincide with the X Rebirth release but only to those that sign up as 'followers' on my soundcloud.

Unless Egosoft want to make me a better offer

Thanks for that stads, I need all the followers I can get! Purely an ego trip you understand

I'm closing in on 10,000 listens but only have 14 followers. I know it's not everyone's bag to create an account just to listen but it does make me feel 'loved' and every one needs lovin', right?

Once again, thanks for showing support.

They'd be well advised to do so!
If not, lets hope it will be possible to replace/edit the audio files of X Rebirth.

I'd really appreciate a download permission, even if you think your songs are not finished yet.

Beethoven composed a much different type of music, and you seem to have more talent than most of the talented guys I know.
Keep it up, it's worth it!

greetings

Hector

PS: I'm currently working on an Audiobook with one of my friends, would you mind if we'd use some (or more) of your songs?

So, I made an account and follow: really nice music :)

Hi Hector_919 thanks for your comments they really are appreciated!

Hi Godani, thank you for following and listening!

A brief update of where I am at the moment;

I'm currently working on a new set of tracks inspired by the moons of the solar system. In fact I am composing 'Ganymede' right now and have come to a musical lull that requires the opening and drinking of a bottle of Fitou (well, what other solution is there?!). Whilst doing this I came onto the forum for the first time in months and saw your comments.

I've recently started a new job that has eaten into both my free time and my creative drive. It's been a struggle to get anything even remotely finished.

If I can get 'Ganymede' close to finalising then I might upload the first set of tracks tonight. On the other hand...

Hector_919 I'm not sure I understand what you mean by tracks for an audio book. Are there specific ones that you'd like to use? You can email me direct at admin[at]hollowinfinity[dot]co[dot]uk if you'd rather not take the chance of me seeing it on the forum.

If I do upload a few tracks to the Sound Cloud tonight I'll post an update here.

Thanks again both of you for taking the time to listen to the music and for adding your comments.

I've uploaded seven new tracks from the 'Lure of Distant Horizons' set.

Hopefully people will find something to like.

Happy listening!
