Why really...why (Spoilers)

Post by Ghostar »

First, hello an sorry for my english....then to the questions.
I finished the AP plot line /well i believe...) i won an Amon something M3...
And thats it?

Why Saya Kho exploded the Torus? is this explained somewhere? did i miss some book or something like that?

I assume that The Terran invaded de Commonwealth because they tought that Jonferco created the AGI...and Jonferco wasnt, IIRC it was PMC, right?
And why PMC did that? to use Albion for themselves?

What is the big things with the highways? are faster than fullspeed + SETA, thats it? :D

So billions of deaths for THAT?

I'm not saying that the history is ******...but well...TC main plot was better IMHO

Did i really miss something?

From the X-encyclopedia that came with the superbox, The only thing we are sure is that Saya is working for argon. And she's spying on Terran thanks to her mother who promoted her into Terran military without knowing who her daughter really work for. Then the conflict happened and she just took advantage of her position.

Felt guilty so decided to die with the torus. Her motivation as is known is she feared teh Torus gave the Terrans too much of an advantage in a possible war with the common wealth.

I Don't buy it and suspect her boyfriend ( co-conspirator ) has much more to do with it than thus far let on.

I'm don't have AP yet so tell me: Torus is destroyed in AP gamestart, or wil be destroyed (during Argon plot or after AP) ?

If Torus is destroyed in AP then what is is Earth sector now? Derelict or new stations?

Yeah, the ending seemed rather sudden, if that is indeed the ending.

So now, I'm going back to XTC!

The thing that gets me is why is it the Commonwealth vs the Terrans instead of just the argon vs the terrans. The only sectors that are in war are argon territory, the plot never has the terrans attacking territory other than argon territory, and the argon broke rule number 1, no AGI.

Oh and it was Jonferco that built the AGI, PMC was just exploiting that knowledge with the terrans to edge Jonferco out of Albion, which was really the only part of the plot that actually made sense.

In summary, the argon are psychopaths and the rest of the commonwealth shrugged and said Okie Dokie.

Which then makes you wonder further...why did Egosoft make the Argon the GOOD GUYS in this conflict. While they haven't explicitly stated it the fact that the only plot missions are for Argon means that you're "supposed" to play Argon, but every single post I've read has people raging against the Argon for what they did to the Torus. And I fully agree!

I'd have started with a Terran only campaign. I want to see Argon Prime in flames. They're a bunch of jerks.

Edit: I think I'm going to fire up Medieval II: Total War and go lay waste to Aragon. Close enough... :P

I don't think Argons are the good guys. Maybe just the "default" race. I wage war to whoever.

You forget that the Terrans were not at all generous about the Commonwealth having established a gateconnection to them in the end, as in return they forced their rules upon the whole CW, which already chose another path in their ongoing war and conflict with Xenon/AGI than the Terrans did. The CW had already delved deeply into Xenon technology (which after all is Terran technology) in search of ways to end war (and even further trying to accept AGI consciousness and therefore respecting them as lifeforms)

So dont forget that the Terrans ignorance regarding the history of war between the CW and AGI. That should make you have serious doubts calling them the good guys.
