X Superbox key failed to work on steam...

Hello there... I've brought a copy of the x superbox with some coinage of mine ages ago... enjoyed the countless hours building empires and fleets with the game.

Anyhow.. I heard on the fourms you can enter the retail key of the superbox into steam and it works... only that mine didn't..

Is anyone able to help me out here?

The way to register a copy of X3TC with Steam is explained in this FAQ entry which also explains how to avoid downloading the whole thing again.

That's how i attempted to put the key into steam. Didn't work..

I want to put the key in so i can download Albion Prelude on the day (and because i own the X superbox, free of charge).

Check, if you confused a letter with a number (S instead of 5, A instead of 4) or vice versa. The Community key is unfortunately printed a little bit unclear.

I did a search and it is not clear to me, I bought the X-superbox on Steam, is there a code where I activate it? I looked in the steam e-mail and I saw only the confirmation code.

You don't have to activate the steam version in order to be able to play it. What the OP meant was activating the retail version of the Superbox on steam to get the games there again.

After multible tries.. it finaly worked on steam... So i'll be enjoying Abilon Prelude in a few days...
