The next Prime Grid Challenge is on the 20-23 June, beginning and finishing at 23:09 UTC. The sub-project is GFN, so you will need a fast graphics card, or 3...
Good to have you with us...
In the last Challenge, we came 57th, which is good as points this year go down to 100 for teams.

The sub-project is GFN, which is a gpu sub-project. Select GFN from the PrimeGrid preferences, but do not select "world" (those wus are too big to finish in time).
Note that only wus downloaded and uploaded within the time limits will count.

If 72hrs of GPU time isn't enough  for a 'world' wu,
roughly how long will the 'short' wus take to do?

iirc, it takes about 6 hours on a GTX460SE and just under 4 hours on a GTX560. The "world" wus take about 6-8 DAYS!
Please note too, that these wus are very intensive and sensitive, and sometimes fail on overclocked gpus. If your gpu is overclocked, make sure it doesn't run too hot... note also that using an alternative login while the wu is running may cause failure of CUDA (this applies to all gpu wus on all projects)...

ok, well I have 2 ageing GTX280s
280 spec' link 460 spec' link
but for S@H work they are OC'd to gpu/shader 756/1566 from 602/1296 stock,
Seems to run stable enough, so should give comparable times to a GTX460SE

Hmm that could be an issue... but if it errors I could drop it down a bit,
or if that fails, even back to stock.

They're both watercooled, running S@H puts the gpu under 75% load according to gpuz
and at OC speeds they never go above 45'C so that shouldn't be a problem.

Never do that so that shouldn't be a problem.
