XU Forum Quest - Round 6

Hello, Community!

Welcome to the X-Universe Forum Quest, let us introduce this little project.

We would like to offer you a competition while you wait for X Rebirth to be released and thus play X3: Terran Conflict probably for the 1000th time. We're quite sure that you know the universe you're playing in by now and so we have come up with some riddles for you to solve. Your knowledge of the sectors, ships, stations as well as the history of X will be put to the test in this competition.

This competition is not just to pass the time until X Rebirth is released. We have great prizes for the winners and for one "Lucky Loser". So be sure to take part. Even if you don't win, you might be the lucky one that gets the special prize. Ensure that you read the rules below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We look forward to seeing how much you know about the X universe.

Rules:

• All registered users of the EGOSOFT forums are permitted to participate with the exception of EGOSOFT staff members, administrators and members of the XU Forum Quest group.
• Answers are only considered valid if submitted via email to [no more mails please] including your forum nick. Note that you should inform us if you change your nick, otherwise you risk losing your score.
• Please use XU Forum Quest Round x (where x is the number of the current round) as the subject for your email entry.
• If multiple entries are submitted by the same user then only the first one received will be considered valid.
• If multiple users share the same score, those who have participated in more rounds will be ranked higher. Should both scores be the same, then the users will share the same rank.
• If any user posts a solution to a question (right or wrong) in the forum, they may be excluded from that round and the answer will be removed.
• A 'Lucky Loser' is to be randomly selected from the users that have participated in at least 42% of the rounds and who is not ranked among the top three users.

Prizes:

• The winner receives a signed copy of X Rebirth, a Steam X-Superbox and a poster
• 2nd place gets a steam copy of both X Rebirth and X-Superbox
• 3rd place gets a Steam copy of X-Rebirth
• The Lucky Loser will also receive a steam copy of X Rebirth

Ah yes, I'm sure msot people would rather get Rebirth than the Superbox.

I was laughing that, if I hadn't missed a round and had managed to get first place, the signed superbox would be useless to me, and would therefore be placed on a shelf, in its original packaging, as a collectable...

EDIT: Just realised you can't actually see the joke if you read it. The joke was I didn't notice it was a Steam copy at first. Eurgh, sometimes things make so much sense in your head, then...

Knew where Suzie was going to get picked up.

Thought I knew what I was seeing in question 2... not so sure if I've answered it incorrectly, but I think I can argue my case if I have, and if not, I bet hardly anyone will get it.

didnt really investigate this round, i just guess excet for susie.

edit: for question 2 i did look at it and think the hull looked like an eclipse, but didnt say that anwser as i can see a ship, so my anwser should be valid still.

Nope, sorry. First of all, there are two ships and not only one. And secondly, as there are over 300 ships in X3:TC and the screenshot shows some good hints at the right ship (metallic surface and the general surface character), a valid answer should contain a bit more information than just "a ship".

I understood that the question is asked to indicate the type of ships that are there (like it was in questions of the past rounds). It is a pity.
Maybe you'll count answer "Eclipse" (instead "Two Eclipse") like correct too?

Ah, it doesn't say "what object" or "what ship". It says "what can be seen". I thought, that looks like an Eclipse's texture, and after looking at it I surmised it must be 2 next to eachother, and that couldn't be right. Then I read "What can be seen here?" and thought, yeah I bet it is right.

Clear enough IMO.

@ question 2 - at first I thought it was some mirrored thing on the x-axis on some argon fighters. Then I got a little desperate and I basically looked every ship for that kind of textures... Needless to say, my search got limited to argon only again. Found this unmirrored on the discoverer and I was like "wtf, is that really 2 mirrored discoverers?". Then I looked at all the other ships, and.. let's say that I looked at all of them several times 'till I found out that I wasn't looking at the normal eclipse model. Still had some doubts then (seemed too easy), but I wasn't really feeling like bothering with it (openfest and some other stuff ^_^). About the sector - searched for all the sectors with docks on x3tc.ru, scanned their screenshots for the green light sources/etc to futher shrink the list and then checked them one by one. Then simply try to match the angle (the shipyard's "command bridge" area makes this easy). Susie - by heart

hm.. Looks like i was marked wrong, but it looks to me like i got them right. Can you tell me which one(s) and why? My answers were:
