Goodness me I was 10 in 77 and remember that Donna Summer track playing on the radio! Thanks for making me feel old terre!
In a similar theme: ( at least for me. ) |
You're welcome and as for the Tull, you could not escape Aqualung in the early seventies, to the point of hating the very mention of it.
A bit a of a favorite track, I also like the Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood version.
The chap that put this video together did a beautiful job. The way that they finish this can make you jump, especially when listening on ear goggles.

Just to add a bit of modernism to the party: Arion/Skylar Grey - Coming Home - I love this song with a passion. So relaxing. Perfect for laying back with my headphones on and forgetting the world.
Not that I don't like the music you guys have linked, it's good honest music just not quite something I find soothing at this point in time.
Edit: If you give it a listen, listen to it to the end (720p gives better sound quality too) and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

Well, if we're allowed to mention opera then try this!
A beautiful singer, and a beautiful song (even though it may be a bit obscure).
Interseting what people will listen to to relax (an dgood look defining what that means!). Try lying on your back, headphones on, lights off, and listening to the whole of Cross of Changes (Enigma). The ending will certainly surprise.
Then again, who these days listens to whole albums at a sitting? I'm feeling old
Icky

Some good pieces there, though at least two of them I wouldn't bother with normally. Interesting.
Normally I avoid opera icky, its just noy for me, I have to say though that she has a beutiful voice. I tried to find a link to a Catherine Jenkins song, ( O Mio Babbino Caro ) but couldn't find one cos they had been removed because of copyright infringement! Does make me wonder how safe this thread is? Anywho, that song by CJ was the first female opera I enjoyed.
Must say that the first time I heard this it made my neck hairs stand up!

A change of pace with a little mellow Metallica!

The 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' contains some fantastic themes. The following does not get played often enough.
Richard Wagner - Siegfried funeral march
This is just plain beautiful and so is the video, complements to the chef.
Edvard Grieg - Funeral March for Rikard Nordraak

If anyone is interested, Styx have a new album being released this coming Monday called regeneration. Well I say a new album, it is actually 2 albums that they have been selling at their concerts called regeneration 1 & 2 put together to form a single double album, but it's new to the shops.
P.S. i miss the old music thread.

What you say about Bono is one of the things that put off U2, we'll have to disagree about his voice.
