New Terran plot where you can get the highest ATF rank and access to ATF Cap ships
At the moment, the highest ATF rank the player can achieve is "Earth Access".
I really hope Egosoft will make one more path with a plot where player would work with ATF and command and plan operations. At the end the player would get "Command Access" rank and ability to produce all ATF ships and stations (blueprints for PHQ or special sector with stations).

God forbid new plots. They are not the strenght of this game, imo. Anyway, because so many ways are there to play in the sand, plots have been extremly hard to complete; too many possibly unexpected scenarios. THus, the main plots now are bug free and safe to finish, if you read a bit up about them. A new plot would bring many aches, and those would take yeras to be sorted out, and safe to embark on. No more plots.

I would prefer access to the left out terran stations (Ice mining/water purification etc.) from the Aldrin Missions. Rather than buying ships you can easily "obtain" (boarding/BoP-Plot!) yourself.

Here's my simple solution in this case:
Operation Final Fury 2 where you fight agains a super enemy fleet and so need to have a huge force to be with you.
2 new sectors, one enemy sector and one ATF sector. The enemy sector is for battle and the ATF sector for ATF stations and command.
Thus no need to write any complex plots, just a few messages with instructions and 2 new sectors ( =2 simple backgrounds).
Such a simple thing would not take much resources for development and very, very unlikely would cause bugs.

Your AFT rank will never drop (it is just a "ticket" for access to systems/planets). No matter how many ATF you destroy, it will never drop. In my lastest game my first boarding with an M7M was a "lost" Tyr in Heretics End with its escort (3 Skrinir). I have no regrets and am totally shameless! Nobody can sue me there. Hrhrhr.

I think that the last word on any patches for TC was in the form of an unsigned patch made available in the latest news letter. re- OOS Combat.
But yes,as stated above,there are some good mods and scripts in s/m forum.
I can put the Torus anywhere I want,if I like,or give the ATF a fleet of Qs to defend TUS 1.
Just a couple of possibilities.

Actually that is one of the mods I will be investigating for my current game story.
Not added it to the list of mods/scripts yet,but stay tuned.I have a lot of work to do before I get there.

Do you think ES takes requests or wishes like some local wedding band? Basically, you don't need patch, you need mod. And with mod you have some chances getting what you want, unlike with patch who clearly will never happen, and frankly, I don't see why it should.

Usually mods negatively change the game balance. And there's more quality when things are done by developer.
1. I'd say it is a fair choice: do you want "stats" or do you want ATF's love?
2. "Balance" is subjective, but mods aim to "make it better", not worse.
3. I bet the modders can focus better on what they do than the devs.
@handy388: Players have already built "torus" around some tiny pebble in Aldrin.

I would assume that the bulk of Egosoft's staff is focused on Rebirth right now. That's the way it should be. I'd rather see the staff busy developing and testing Rebirth that be diverted back to creating a patch adding more plots that aren't needed. I would imagine the things we would most like to see fixed, like autopilot, SETA, collision avoidance, can't be fixed on the X3:TC engine. Rebirth with it's brand new engine holds the promise to have better of each.
While there are some mods that unbalance the game in a severe manner, there are plenty out there that just take some of the busy work out of the game.
You want new plots? Then I challenge you as a software engineer to develop some. One of the great things about this game is that you can modify it to meet your play style.

I think you need to look at the mods before you actually make a comment...I played Vaniila X3R and X3TC for 5 years (under a different name) before i went modified 7 months ago, and now I and now wish I had done it several years before!
Just head over to the dark side and download either the Terran Revitilsation Project to simply get the ATF ships you want and little more, or the SRM if you want to see what X3TC should have been like from Egosoft....it will give you everything you want and far far more!
X3TC is finished and their will NEVER be anymore patches........
