So XTC is still very much being worked on? I started playing it again last week, almost got enough money for a reasonable fleet, trying to find a sector to call home, etc.
The universe is fully expanded now in my game, and the Boron are struggling to hold off the... er... threat from the North West.
Anyway, would very much hate to see the mod come to a total end. It's definitely worth working on!  As long as it doesn't come out too long after Rebirth I'll be happy...

Never Give Up Never Surrender! You can count that as a yes to the question After 3 (?) years of development one doesn't simply give up and cease to exist.

The latest news (in short) was that scripting had stalled for a while, then they lost their scripters, but they got some new ones. They finally found the 24-gamehour-crash bug and a couple others. All that remains is some final tweaking and scripting work. So, "Soon(tm)" actually applies.

If said gamer has been anticipating for years already, they don't learn very well.

yes it does but you have to follow the instructions about a steam install, basicly because steam re-downloads files XTC overwrites. Search for "how to make a second x3tc install" there is a thread somewere, once this is done install XTC into this installation folder. This then means you can have X3tc and XTC on you computer at the same time, note that they will both use the same saves folder so make sure you do not overwrite. Also just to be sure you do know that XTC is not compatible with vanilla saves? you need to start a new game.

hmmm i have not played XTC in a while but check which version of x3tc XTC is compatible with, i think recent patches will not be compatible im not sure.

yeah...just count it as a fail. I thought...yeah...then after downloading and starting again, I went back and saw the date in the thread.
I was so excited about seeing the 2, I thought it was the new version...
That also explained why I didn't see anything new
