Special Task-Force Unit Plugin


What I'm Looking For
MDer to do missions
Maybe some artists for custom loading screens, 1 for each race, propaganda?
A few music tracks, maybe one fitting each race you can join, which may be used in combat.
Debuggers - More downloaders of Alpha and bug reports
Some friendly chatter
Requests/suggestions/idea

:arrow: Features

Join the military - Earn reputation, cash, and notoriety!
Each kill rewards you with money, and of course experience points added to your rank. The higher your rank, the more money you get! In future getting to certain ranks may reward the player with ships, equipment, and more!

Missions - (DISABLED IN ALPHA DUE TO BUGS)!

Partake in your usual missions, defend station, kill enemy ships, etc. but against your racial enemy!

Relations - Prepare to fight who you're meant to!!

If you're Argon, you'll need to kill the Paranid, if you're Split you'll need to kill the Boron. If you're Teladi, well... life's a bit more relaxed. Join a military and your relations will be effected as expected. Be prepared to be locked as an enemy.

Player Property Alerts - Receive instant warnings!!

If you lose a ship or factory, don't worry. No longer will you spend hours longer playing, only to find somethings gone missing and have to trawl through your log. This provides an instant inbox message, telling you what died, where, and at the hands of who!

Sector Alerts - View how dangerous sectors are!!

Your military will keep an up-to-date list of their sectors and the threat levels of them. With Low or Medium, expect a few enemy traders in the sector. If it's listed as Severe, be worried... and it could be worse.

Realistic Capital Explosion - Big Badda BOOM!!

When a Capital or Station blows... it BLOWS. Repeated blasts will flash around the dying ship, finishing with a huge whiteout. You won't be able to see a thing, and chances are you'll be severely fried. Flying a scout past that exploding M2? You don't stand a chance. And if a station blows, nobody is safe.

Weapon Randomiser and Supply - Giving the NPCs a necessary shuffle!!

Less PBG, less Xenon PBE, more RAINBOW CANNON! Prepare for blasts of mixed fire! If the enemy appears to be firing a PBE, 2 PRGs, an IRE, a HEPT, a MD, a PAC and a FBL at you... they probably are. MDs, EBCs, GCs will be stocked with ammo, M7Ms and M8s will be loaded with missiles... and all ships will have a 100% missile fire percentage!

The Information Connection - Quick menu hotkey.!

Point at a military base to open the menu, where you can view ranks, alerts, or join/leave the military. Point at a ship for info on the available bounty. Functionality to point it at one of your fellow pilots and get help will be added!

:arrow: Suggested Mods/Plugins

MARS - Weapons Changing tends to add loads of guns. MARS will work well!
IR and RRF - (When compatability is finished) Lots of ships and battles? Perfect!
XTC - Not compatible. Yet.

:arrow: Compatability And Advice For Authors

This plugin runs plenty of effects on ships upon death, including explosions, damage, warning the player of their own ship deaths etc.
If you have anything you wish to make compatable with this, please add a local variable of ej.military.ignore.ship to the object in question. An example of this is FDN, which uses player owned ships and destroys them, spamming the player with 'Your ship died' messages when this plugin is in use.

I see, you are trying to make this compatible with IR, 2 things for precaution :

1. IR plot protection system
2. the latest IR has disabled the collateral damage effect due to ships refuse to die bug

Yeah. I used a file analyzer to see if it was a special kind of .Zip.
Came back as something 7zip could normally open.
7zip responded with compression error.
Verified by using PKZip and it crashed before it even listed the files.

It possibly died during upload.

My ships seem to die perfectly well with this script.




3. It is indeed a normal Zip, look here, it's a well known problem it seems.

Any suggestions on somewhere I can upload?

I'm still pretty sure it is the format.

What are you using to create it?

I'm using Chrome: I successfully download it and I can view the internal contents, however it crashes when I try to extract them with, "Unsupported compression method".

I noticed the file name changed.
Did you change anything with it or possibly your website renamed it and did something to the internals of it.

This script looks great, but I'm waiting fr the missions to be implemented. They really make me want to play them !
If brute force doesn't solve your problems, then you aren't using enough

Missions won't be implemented for some time. I'm abandoning the SE missions, they're way too buggy and not user friendly.

That means getting to know the MD... which shall be fun.

I suggest you try a play without the missions for now. What've you got to lose... :roll:
