I just installed win 7 64, and a fresh install of X3TC with all the patches.

I just discovered after applying all the patches from 2.0 to 2.7.1 that the save games all state 2.0.

If for whatever reason if your noticing odd variances in the game reinstall the patches.

This one had me scratching my head for a couple of hours.

When upgrading to the latest patch,especially from a fresh install,don't update with the smallest increments.
use
a/ X³: Terran Conflict 1.0.1 -> 2.6
b/ X³: Terran Conflict 2.6 -> 2.7
c/ X³: Terran Conflict 2.7 -> 2.7.1

This should iron out any bugs that may otherwise build up.

Your OLD save games *will* show as 2.0, because that's the version they were created in. Any saves you save from 2.7.1 will show an asterisk for the version, indicating they're current.

Maybe I didn't state it plainly enough.

If you patch a game up to 2.7.1 and the new save game shows 2.0, the patch didn't take.

This was my experience on a win 7 64 fresh install. After re-patching the game from 2.0 to 2.7.1 the game works fine.

For those of you that made the same mistake I did, just try re-patching the game. It fixed my problems.
