Which races do you keep friendly?

So I started another game... my last was in 2009 :O and I had no clue where I was heading with that one.

One thing I have yet to do is complete the hub missions and get my P HQ in X3TC... :evil:

When I started my new game I decided to try out some mods/AI so I installed ADS, MARS and pirate Guild.

So far it's like a new game... but silly me I picked on the Boron and well just remembered you need race relations with them to get the hub plot started :shock:

So I've been patroling hostile boron sectors looking for Xenon up by Menalaous paradise (Spelling?) and have managed to get them neutral but not to the point of docking.

Wanting to pirate more so I'm asking which races do you feel are more important to stay on good terms with and who do you pummel?

If you want to be friends with the Boron, you should probably be friends with the Argon and enemies with the Split. Kill Split ships in Boron space, the little fishies love that!

I change around the friend foe settings in my hot war editor so I usually disown paranids first then borons. Dont like the look of there m2 and m1 so I think the universe should be rid of they're uglyness.

I like all Alien races except for the Pirates, so do engage Pirates with all weapons.
Boron, Argon, Split, Paranid, Yaki, - I assign warship Patrols to protect what I can of their Territory.
With the Split I have over twenty Tigers, an Elephant, and four Panthers (with 120 Nova fighters), each with a Corvette to escort them.
Most Argon Sectors have at least a Shrike Patrol, and / or at least one Osprey. All told, I have around eighty per cent of my Active Fleet, defending their two areas of territory. Other ships are in spacedock, rearming and refuelling, or repairing.
Paranid and Boron space tends to be quieter, but I will assign more Shrikes once I can afford them.
I have an Anti Pirate Task Force of five Destroyers, eight Shrikes, a Hoshi and five Cerberus in Bala Gi's Sector.

All are friendly in my games after a short period,with the exception of some renegade Pirates.You will never solve that problem without scripts or mods.

I've stayed friendly with everyone until recently, when I started trying to expand my little empire with less-than-legal methods. (And began accidentally running over civilian ships in my Panther, I might add. :D) I've got two M6's and an M7 that I'm equipping to operate as a pirate.

Yeah, but that would reduce your rep with non-renegade pirates, which sorta defeats the purpose of this thread. (I'm having enough problems with the pirates in the eastern galaxy as it is.)

Starting XTC again and this time am going to do the Hub plot first too because last time surprise suprise I never finished it

I'm not sure whether I'll actually complete the Hub plot before I make my way to the Terran base to sign up - not even sure thats possible but I could get a few factories running. and those factories are going to be producing chips

problem is that I started with Bankrupt assasin and the Boron hate me so I got to be nice to our fishy friends

in the meantime those chip facs.

why is a Bankrupt assasin so interested in Chip facs ? I don't know. Perhaps he got bored of assasinating people and now wants to start a silicon wafer trading empire (?).

I think I'm beginning to worry unecessarily. less thinking - more building.

I have a vague feeling that chips are good for cyber crime and bankrupt assasins might be interested in Cyber crime

so I'm going to be pals with the Yaki. think of an anarchist version of microsoft with guns.

I don't like being horrible to anyone but suppose I could be horrible to the Paranid.

can I hack there base to get a towing thingie I hope so

god I almost hate them already

Yeah I went with bankrupt assasin as well and started attacking boron and paranid ships for loot... then I smartened up and let the real pirates blow up the ships then stole the loot haha

I guess I'll be nice until I complete the hub plot... then I'll be strong enough to attack most of them.

its way better to be enemy of one race since hour 0... a lot of fun... ships to shoot down...

Im enemy of the Paranids since ive started this start... so much fun!

The best race to stay friends with its the Terrans i think... in my next start i gona be friend only of the terrans... and goners... maybe.

As im playing pirate my aim is just freinds with teladi, for the fact i need to use someones equipment docks for upgrading cargo space etc..plus they are neutral to pirates and you can sell the illegals to them, and im freinds with split, because they sell the turbo boosters, and i havent seen any AI ships carrying any of those that i can loot. argon jump drives are not a prob even though im not freinds with goners because usually plenty of ships capped have them installed. I used the cheat script to make all missions complete because to be honest i cant be botherred with storylines i just want to get on with being a scurvy spacedog. So, got my HQ, and im only flying Pirate ships ive got the blueprints for. Everythng else, i crap for materials at the HQ to build up my pirate fleet.

Sounds like my plan once I get the HQ built... Where did you decide to place your HQ to avoid race military fleets?

The sector you receive as a plot reward would be good, but all sectors can have scouts enter them. If you want to stay friends with the Terran, build your PHQ near one of the gates in Terran space. That's a lot of hardware for a commonwealth fleet tasked with your destruction to get through.

@kilo69, twisted skies, i also got a hub gate between the unknown and zyarths, at the moment nobody is botherring to come through it. but when they do i guess i guess i better get loads of squash mines

i just couldnt be botherred with doing the whole plot before i got to play how i liked. being freinds with everyone and so little action drives me nuts. but i do keep it hard on myself by not allowing myself any factories and anything other than pirate ships. im still only a week into this game tho, i started new again soon as i see the 3.1 caame out last week

if i get enough pirate ships i guess i will try to take out the whole commonwealth and then terrans LOL

@Ozkar, yeah i was thinking about doing a hub gate right to aldrin, lol. HQ would be awesome in terran space if you were RP'ing as Terran.
